Sometimes, having a slightly below par experience initially helps to give the staff an opportunity to make a more than positive & lasting impression. And, that is exactly what happened for us at the Lake City, FL Wendy's. We live in GA and were driving to Ocala & Orlando to see family. We stopped at the Lake City Wendy's to walk our dog, use the restroom & grab a treat. The ladies' room was very clean, and was a nice surprise for a fast food restaurant, on a busy exit off of I-75. Unfortunately... I didn't realize that the small stall in the ladies' room was out of TP (toilet paper) until I was "trapped." (Life curiosity: Ladies' rooms always have a line of ladies waiting... until you have no TP, and then... there is NOONE. LOL.) After wrapping up in the restroom and warning the next lady who came in about the the TP, I went to the counter to place our order. If the team member who came to take my order wasn't in mgmt, then he really should be. I let him know about the lack of TP. He immediately apologized & immediately started asking someone to go fill it. While waiting at the counter, I smiled and laughed about the lack of other ladies in the restroom fir once & my having to contact my husband via phone, to get my daughter to come inside, so she could get me some TP. 🙄 The male team member (I missed getting his name) seemed embarrassed & apologized again. And, when I ordered a drink for my husband, he filled the order, but didn't charge me, for the inconvenience. I know that a drink seems like a little thing. But, it was the icing on the cake & we will be planning to stop at the Wendy's in Lake City every time we go back & forth to see family in the future. Not just because of the free drink, but because it was combined with this team member's sincere apology and his sense of urgency to correct the issue immediately. So many people who work with the public these days, don't care if customers are happy or not. I was very happy with the cleanliness & genuine courtesy of the Lake...
Read moreMichelle walked away from the counter when we walked up, so we waited several minutes to place our order.
Food order took 10 minutes (I checked the time of the order on the receipt v. the time our name was called because it seemed like a long time for fast food.
The condiment station has no ketchup, so I went to the counter to ask for some. Michelle was busy chatting with the staff to the side. They looked up and saw me and kept chatting. I tried to ask for a ketchup packet, but was ignored. 3 minutes later she finally came back to the counter to hand another customer their order. I asked for the ketchup and she seemed annoyed and rolled her eyes and walked away. Because of her reaction the other customer looked at me and said "I didn't think that was too difficult of a request..." I shrugged and said "I guess it was complicated."
Michelle returned to the counter with a box of ketchup, instead of just handing me one (because now I've been standing at the counter for 5 minutes), she picked up an empty plastic container and went to the back counter to refill it. At this point I just walked back to the table and my now cold fries. I no longer needed the ketchup, because... cold fries :/
I open my burger and the order is wrong. I asked for pickles only (says so on my receipt) as you can see in the picture it did not have only pickles. I didn't have another 30 minutes to spend waiting for them to try to get it right. Plus, I now see Michelle has disappeared to the parking lot, bent over in her car. Maybe for a smoke break? IDK? Anyway, the whole experience was rather ridiculous and very frustrating.
I do not recommend this as a quick stop during a road trip. The low stars are a direct reflection of the service at...
Read moreWent to wendys on us 90 and they need serious training. No toilet paper in stall, got two meals, 5.00 biggie bags. One no salt on fries, and no onion extra pickle on sandwich and had onion and salt on fries, other sandwich had barely dab of ketchup, no BBQ in either bags for nuggets and food was barely Luke warm. Brought sandwich back up to counter and instead I'm apologize we will Mke another I get attitude and says well u can't just take onion off. ( what if I was allergic and thT taste still on there). Another person brought in there sandwich the whole sandwich inside in out had ketchup all over it. Group of people standing outside going through there food as we was leaving. There food wrong. Cashier had attitude and was mouthy and didn't know when to shut her mouth. Cashier to busy being lazy laying on counter and not stocking nothing and had to have a customer tell her that they need to put out wet floor signs. Floor was soaked on one side. Shouldn't have to tell that to an employee if there was a decent manager there that did training. I have never been a manager before and could do a better job. A bunch of lazy people including the manager there. Customer service for that one is a negative 1000. U as a huge company should be looking into this cause it's giving u all a bad name and it's just not me...
