Burger King — Restaurant in Lake Elsinore

Posting this complaint/review hoping the owner of this Burger King will hold employees accountable.

On 8/1/21 at 4:00 pm, I placed an order through the website/app to pick food up at 18611 Dexter Avenue, Lake Elsinore, CA 92532. I selected to pick up the food inside the restaurant to avoid the drive thru line, as I was in a rush and I’ve waited up to 25 minutes in this same drive thru in the past At 4:20 pm, I arrived to the store and the doors were locked. There was a sign on the door stating that the dining room was closed due to being understaffed and to wait in the drive thru line. The drive thru line had 5-10 cars and as I mentioned we did not have time to wait. Since I had placed this order much earlier and was given the option to pick up the food inside, I called the phone number provided on the website. When I called, a gentleman answered and said, “Hello.” I asked, “Is this Burger King?” He answered, “No” and we both hung up. So I knocked on the door and and an associate answered. I asked if I could pick up my order and he said he would ask his manager. He returned and said no. I asked if I could be refunded, and again he said he would ask his manager. He returned and said no, I must contact corporate. At this point, I requested to speak to the manager and asked for the manager’s name, which I was told was Juan. The associate I dealt with was very polite and helpful by the way! Juan came to the door and I asked if I could be refunded. He told me to call Door Dash or wherever I ordered from. I informed him I ordered through the app, he said to call corporate. I asked if I could have proof that I didn’t receive my order and he said no. He was very dismissive, rude, and shut the door in my face. I left the restaurant with no food and no refund. I understand they might have been busy and understaffed, but I was provided with no service at all (food nor customer service). Also, it would also have been much quicker and efficient to just give me my food which surely should have been ready by then? He was very unprofessional and after speaking with him in person, I am certain he is the man who answered the phone. I am shocked that a man with this work ethic can be in a management position. Still waiting...

We came for a quick dinner burger before heading home. It was a treat for us. I have never had their burgers. The cook either has no idea what she is doing or she doesn’t even care. The guy at the window took our order correctly as we saw on the receipt. We got our bag and pulled into a space to check out food before leaving. Good thing we did as both our burgers were completely wrong. My husband ordered a whopper and I ordered the bacon king with a single patty on a potato bun. My husbands whopper had no cheese, ketchup or mustard and tomatoes, it only had onions, mayonnaise and lettuce. I didn’t even receive a bacon king. I got a burger with mustard, ketchup, pickles and onions. So we went back and the employee at the window checked out food and agreed they were both wrong. The cook tried to say that she made what she was supposed to on the screen. The window employee put our order in correctly as we saw on the receipt. It was the cooks fault. The food turned out excellent, no problems with my order at all! But lets be real, I bought 2 meal combos (Bacon King and 2 cheeseburger) and made the fries and drinks large, 2 orders of 8 cheese tots, 6 tacos (3 x 2 for $1.99), and a kids meal. Total? Any guesses? First let me also say, the staff and service were fast, friendly, and efficient and I have zero complaint there! The atmosphere, well it was like 10pm and I went through the drive thru, but I did have to roll down the window to order, etc. and the fresh air was nice at that time, so no complaints there either. But I just dont get out enough anymore, because I did not expect to pay just north of $50 for Burger King. Have it my way? Okay how about next time make it affordable! I had to check if the kids meal crown was actually gold plated...it wasn't! I did enjoy the food, we all did, but for that price I'll go to...
