My partner and I have been on a mission for the past few months to find our favorite chocolate shop here in Washington, and we have been to quite a few. Needless to say, Chocolate Man is still on the top rung.
Walking in feels like a warm hug as the aroma of freshly made chocolate envelopes you and you are met visually with all the chocolate your heart desires. It's like stepping into a warm cabin from the cold, a fireplace already going for you. The lady who runs the shop(or at least the one who's always there) is always friendly and willing to help if you have any questions. I love that she has a display case for floral/fruity/exotic chocolates, an alcohol-based section, and a section for more traditional based chocolates with their own little spin. This allows me to explore the store without dillying in front of the case for what seems like forever while trying to decide what kind of mood I'm in. I enjoy exploring the display tables as there's always something fun to look at and buy. If you love to bake, they sell discs (I don't know what you call them) from all over the world, and that's not an exaggeration. There's even hot chocolate, hot and ready for you, if you ever want some, made with real chocolate!
There's something about this place that was founded on heart and bringing smiles to people's faces through the warmth of chocolate. Everything we've tried here is delicious, and there's something...

They have some award-winning chocolates here that I purchased, and they tasted great. My favorite thing here though is their sipping chocolate, which is really rich and thick and not like any other hot chocolate you've had (unless you're been to Europe haha). It's straight up melted chocolate, but it's not overpowering. There is definitely a reason why they serve it only starting at 4 ounces and goes up to 8 ounces. Can you believe it's only two dollars for 4 ounces? That's all you really need honestly. You can also get free samples of the sipping chocolate but make sure you go 40 minutes after opening because it does take them sometime to make it fresh so they won't have it ready if you go right at opening.
Tips: they have a rewards program where they give you a stamp for every five dollars you spend. For every 20 stamps you earn, you can save up for free stuff or a discount on your purchase. They also offer classes for chocolate making and truffle making so check those out because they fill up really fast. They're currently about $65 per person with a discount...
Read moreThe Chocolate Man is one of, if not the best, place to get white, milk, and dark chocolates of all kinds imaginable! They also rent professional quality molds and machinery. Their handmade truffles are crazy amazing! They have all sorts of shaped molded chocolate gifts like tools, golf balls, police badges, firetrucks, and many others. The staff are quite knowledgeable and always willing to make a bag of chocolate pieces smaller or larger since they're sold by the pound. Their website has descriptions of the types of chocolate they have on hand as well. During non-COVID times they're also quick with samples so you can try before buying any particular chocolate. If you have a question or request that the staff can't answer, the owner, Bill, is usually there to help out. In short, I...
