Peanuts Pub & Deli — Restaurant in Lake Forest

After a tough golf game a couple of buddies recommended we drop by Peanuts for lunch. I had my favorite sandwich shops in mind, both of which were closer (I was starving), but they promised me the best Italian sub I had ever eaten. This was a tall order, which I felt fairly certain they would not be able to make good. As is evident by my five stars, Peanuts delivered, and then some.

One look at the menu and you'll not only like the prices, but the variety is amazing. I was impressed right off. Not only is the atmosphere fun and friendly, so is everyone we met and served us. The place is a hoot, not to mention the complimentary buckets of peanuts are extraordinarily fresh (noting like Angle Stadium...).

The only challenge we had was debating whether the Italian sub is best served cold or toasted. I opted for the owner's recommendation and was elated I did - it was simply out of this world, unbelievably delicious... As to how I had it served, you'll have to go to find out.

I do want to add that portion was ginormous- so much so that I took half of it home for my teenage son who agreed it was by far the best sub he's ever eater. No exaggeration folks, it really is that good. I am looking forward to trying their other famous sandwiches as well, like the Spicy Tuna, but I think it just might be awhile as I cannot wait to return for another...

I had lunch here. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

I had a cheese steak sandwich. It was good, but not great. I would try something else next time.

The environment was a bit too noisy for me. However, I'm more sensitive to noise than most people.

Perhaps it's a bit odd to mention this, but the owners of this place are clearly conservative... they got a Trump banner.

They are also not politically correct. I personally am a liberal and had no issue with any of this. In fact, I found the banter quite amusing and even agreed with some of what I was hearing. I only mention this, because if you are one of these woke crybabies then you might start fuming over nothing like you people always do. Maybe not the place for you.

Food was awesome. Fresh and great. Service even better!! Small group of Local College football fans " Owner knows who you are:-'' Saturday -' equals pathetic. Mom's with kids don't need to hear the F-Bomb every 10 seconds. Lay off the IPA and try lite beer. In fact if still feeling Friday night mix in a water. Grow up. Owner will lose biz and you will lose you're favorite watering hole. Oh and Baseball playoffs are starting and there are still a few fans. Keep Lake Forest Wonderful. My home town 40 + years.
