Got there for breakfast sometime after 9 a.m. on Saturday, 29 January 2022. There was about a 10 min wait to be seated. Had a very friendly and attentive waiter. Ordered The Traditional breakfast because, when trying food at a place I've NEVER been to before, I like to play it safe because, not a great chance of someone messing up toast, bacon, eggs and potatoes. At least that was my thinking eating their food for the very first time. I was WRONG! I also ordered a Morning Meditation drink recommended by the waiter.
Drink was served in a filthy glass as the first couple inches of the entire inside rim of the glass had caked on dried white film that I suppose was grease. Pointed it out to the server and he apologized then took it away and replaced it with a fresh drink in a much cleaner glass. The thing is, I had already taken several sips of the drink from the dirty glass. Ewwww!
Then came the breakfast. Had scrambled eggs and they were cold. Utensils were filthy especially the knife. Once again, had a very attentive server who promptly replaced the dirty utensils and the breakfast. Btw, the potatoes that came with the dish were very salty and I was advised they came that way so I opted for fruit to replace the potatoes in the replacement dish. The bacon was not all cooked all the way and had an off taste as though they might have been cooked along side some sausage which wasn't a part of the dish I ordered. When I order a dish with bacon, I'm expecting to only taste bacon.
The toast that was served was also cold although the bread and jam was delicious. I went there starving and left there hungry.
To say I was disappointed with the experience is an understatement. They comped the meal and I appreciated that but, would have rather have left there with a full belly and an empty wallet.
Our server was great and I was surprised that no one from management came over to introduce themself and address the issues. In time I might try it again only because of the very good service received by the server. But, for now, I'm not in a...
Read moreI am disappointed in First Watch Lake Mary. It was my first visit there today. One good thing is I recognized a First Watch employee from the old Maitland store and it made me feel fairly confident that my dining experience would be good. She was always pleasant and accommodating at the flagship store. I expected at least a smile from the host, but actually didn’t need to be seated because my party was already seated. I feel like I dodged a bullet there because I don’t feel like he was the best choice for the front of the house. He did not seem to be in a good mood. The host reminded me of a robot that was simply there to seat unsuspecting diners 😏. The server was cheerful and pleasant however she forgot one of the first rules of hospitality, which is to offer a glass of water after seating. A few minutes of observation was enough to tell that the restaurant needs to tighten up its greeting and presentation practice. The food was not up to First Watch standards either. The omelette was meager and lacked form. I requested the “Works” omelette without cheese. When it came I was surprised the omelette was like a taco with the “works” ingredients laying under the flap like it was an afterthought to put them there. I know this is not the First Watch standard. Would you please fix these issues? Host (to smile and greet customers) Train servers to lay a good foundation with customers in the first 1-3 minutes Monitor the food from the kitchen for presentation and accuracy Rethink the payment location. The flow of customers coming in are hampered by those who go upfront to pay on their way out.
I want this location to succeed. Please don’t take the location for granted. The competition is fierce. Thanks for your consideration of my...
Read moreFirst Watch in Lake Mary delivers breakfast with a fresh and inviting touch. The experience began with my favorite drink called the Morning Meditation, a vibrant juice that immediately captivates with its blend of citrus, turmeric, and beet flavors. The Morning Meditation is the reason that I continue to come back time after time as it is the perfect wake-up call that’s as refreshing as it is invigorating.
For the main course, the French Toast arrived adorned with fresh berries, adding just the right amount of tartness to balance the sweetness. The thick, fluffy toast soaked up the flavors beautifully, making each bite indulgent yet satisfying.
The other dish that we had was the Traditional Breakfast, which hit all the right notes. It is a breakfast classic done right with perfectly scrambled eggs, rich smoked ham, crispy potatoes, and hearty sourdough bread that completed the meal with a rustic touch.
The grand finale was the recommended Grilled Blueberry Muffins. This was a masterpiece of warm, golden perfection, where the blueberries burst with flavor in every bite. Grilling the muffin added a unique depth to the taste...crisp edges, soft center, and a rich, buttery finish that made for the perfect sweet ending.
