Looking for an in depth review? I'll do my best.
So Dikeys BBQ pit is an interesting one. This one is inside a mall so ambiance isn't really very good at all.
As far as flavor it's probably the best I've had that wasn't home made or from a well established food cart (food carts are almost always the best). I had the 2 meat plate with pork ribs, sliced brisket, potato salad, and ceasar salad. It also comes with a buttered roll.
The ribs were fall off the bone tender and had great smoky flavor. The downside is that you get 4 ribs with the 2 meat plate, and 3 of those had barely any meat on them. The brisket was not bad, but I asked for sliced brisket and I think they served me chopped brisket. There was also a chunk of cartilage the size of a thumb in there, so that wasn't great.
The potato salad had a lot of egg yolk in it, which is more of a preference thing I suppose. It had a nice mix of texture and proportions between ingredients. Their ceasar salad comes in a cup, which was odd. The croutons didn't impress me but they are definitely using a high quality bottled dressing, I really liked it.
The roll that comes with the meal is dense and flavorful, and kind of chewy. They put some kind of margarine spread on top which I didn't like, next time I will ask them to skip it and hope they have pads of butter available on request.
This meal also comes with a HUGE cup of soda, but I quickly realized that they must fill it with tons of ice because it was empty much more quickly than I expected. Not sure if it comes with a refill I didn't ask.
All this at a price of $13.99, which isn't a great value but for BBQ I suppose it's not too bad.
I would say if you're a hungry guy, definitely get a 3 meat plate because the 2 meat plate did not leave me stuffed, but it satiated my hunger just fine.
I would have preferred to give 2.5 stars but google wont let me. Not quite sold on giving 3 stars though so...

When I did, I got a phone call 4 days later from a "manager" and another one from the "owner". After being offered a complimentary meal, I found out that "Chris" is the manager of this location, and he was the person who hung up on me multiple times. The owner "Don" is admit that I can't be dissatisfied with Dickey's BBQ because, "You haven't even tried the food"... Don - I don't have to try the food when your employees are rude and disrespectful. People don't base their reviews on just your product, but also service. In the food SERVICE industry, you should be aware that both the food and how it is served are important.
Staff was extremely rude and disrespectful. I placed an order through Door Dash, and was called to be informed they "just sold out of chicken". The person asked if I wanted it substituted, and offered the same meat items my 3 Meat Plate already included. I asked the person to hold while I ask my wife what she would like, and he scoffed into the phone and replied "I need to know what you want to do".
I asked him to cancel the order and he quickly snapped "okay, fine..." and slammed the phone down. When I called back, he wouldn't tell me his name and replied "I want to know who THIS is". When I asked for the owner or manager, again he hung up on me.
Definitely won't be giving them my business if these are the employees...
Read moreI traveled to Portland and I wanted to eat barbecue and there were a lot of options.I had visited Dickey’s before and liked it so I wanted to go here and I wanted a yellow to take with me drink cup. I should have reconsidered eating there when as soon as I stepped in I was asked was I planning on eating there. I said yes and then I was told all the different meats that they did not have. There was chicken, ribs and 1 or 2 more, and 1 or 2 sides which included aside that they had on the menu that they did not serve any longer. Well, I decided to get a meat and 2 sides that they did have and 2 drinks. The food was ok, but the drinks tasted awful! I debated mentioning it because I still wanted the take home plastic cup. I did go up to the counter and asked if there was a problem with the carbonation or something and the lady said, no but there was a problem about the drinks and that it had been that way for a few weeks! I poured my drink out and she saw that, and knew that I did not drink it, but did not offer anything. But it was a thing that I did want the cup. Well, I love my Coca Cola and if she would have added that to the other list of items that had a problem then that would have been a game changer for sure. I will not let this keep me from visiting another Dickey’s, just...
