It comes with great disappointment the feelings I’ve come to share. I’ve been a client at this location specifically with Richelle for almost 3 years. I’m picky when it comes to letting people mess with my hair, as you wouldn’t believe the amount of times I’ve had a basic trim messed up in the past.
For 3 years, Richelle provided great service. I go in every 8 weeks for a basic trim, and since I have fairly healthy hair, usually only about 1/2 inch needs to be taken off. I went in on Sunday for my routine trim and asked for 1 inch this time to get rid of some longer split ends. Without consulting with me, Richelle decided to layer the bottom of my hair in an attempt to “blend” some of the higher split ends. While I can understand the vision, this never should’ve been done without my consent. I grew up with bangs and spent 4 years growing them out, and if there’s one thing I took away about that, it’s that I HATE my hair not being the same length. I am a basic, straight hair cut type of girl.
The front strands of my hair were about an inch shorter than the rest of my hair, I didn’t like the way it cut off, and I didn’t like the difference in length in general. I went back in last night to be fixed, which I knew would entail cutting that extra inch off the rest of my hair. We discussed a below-the-shoulder length.
My hair is now shoulder length and I absolutely hate it. I think Richelle could tell I wasn’t happy in the chair, and her words of sympathy were “hey you asked me to do this” sure. But I never would have if you had never put layers in my hair without my permission. I went home and bawled my eyes out for 2 hours. I don’t even want to leave my house at this point. I’ve been struggling with finances due to some unfortunate life circumstances, and now I guess I have to save for extensions. There’s not even anyone at Hairmasters to discuss these feelings with because Richelle is the manager. The hard work I put into growing my hair out these last few years was all cut off and taken away because I wasn’t consulted about a decision to do with my hair. It comes with great disappointment to say that this was the end of...
Read moreThis is my first time ever writing a Google review, and this Thursday I was given an overwhelmingly positive experience with Hair Masters, particularly a stylist named Jen. I requested a very layered haircut, and when I walked out of the salon, my hair was somewhat wet, so they mostly blended together, and I was happy with them. But, when my hair dried, I quickly noticed the volume of my hair was mostly below my chin, when I had wanted something more framing my face. This was definitely a result of some poor communication on my end about what I wanted, but I was still very dissatisfied with how it turned out. However, the salon offered to let me come back 2 hours later! I met with Jen again, talked over in more depth about what I wanted, and walked out with the best haircut I've ever had. Not to mention she worked around my DIY bangs that took up a lot of hair that typically is used to frame the face in the way I wanted, but it still turned out absolutely lovely. Would 1000% recommend. Lovely stylist, lovely conversation, and lovely...
Read moreI have long Medusa-like hair that was starting to feel dry as sandpaper, and the split-ends were getting out of control too. I decided it was about time I get my butt over to the hair salon. I made an appointment. They were busy but ready for me. Shannon could see my hair needed a lot of help, but she was so kind and helpful. She took the situation in hand. She washed my hair and added serum which instantly made my hair feel softer. She trimmed off the split ends and cut some layers too. My hair feels so much cleaner, softer and lighter. She gave me much-needed sage advice on how to take care of my hair. I feel confident that I can take better care of my hair now. I cannot recommend Shannon at Hairmasters enough. She was awesome! Thank you thank...
