Monarca P.L.A.C.E 7 — Restaurant in Lake Township

Everything here is home-made; from the crisp, satiny tortilla chips to the amazing fire-roasted habanero salsa. Their salsa is some of the hottest I've ever tried! Come early to catch the desayuno specials--their huevos rancheros are excellently spiced and served with refried beans, rice, onions, peppers, cheese, sour cream--you name it--at no additional price like other places. With this special, you can get a complete traditional Mexican breakfast or lunch for about 6-7 dollars-- complete with bottomless cups of coffee! Both the portions and drink sizes are enormous! A medium-sized horchata comes in a gigantic glass goblet; I thought I was drinking from a fishbowl! Monarca also makes freshly squeezed juices and boasts a juice of the day almost every day. Something unique to Monarca are $15 Tortas Gigantes (tortas loaded with asada, chipotles, lettuce, beans, cheese, and onions). I did not order one but I had seen someone else who did. Their order of Tortas Gigantes took up the entire width of their dining table!! I have yet to try one but I am definitely coming back...

I had a pretty terrible experience today. Ordered my food at 11:25 AM and by 1:35 PM it still hadn't shown up. The order tracker I received still said my order was being processed. Two ours for three tacos? The eta texted to me was 12:25 -12:35 PM. I repeatedly called the restaurant and they never picked up. It's just an automated message that says they aren't available and to call back later. I couldn't even ask them where my food was since I had no other communication from them about it - NOR could I even ask for my money back on food I didn't get. I just wanted to eat lunch and I couldn't drive over there to pick it up. I eventually got ahold of Grub Hub and they issued me a full refund, thankfully. First time I tried this place. I cannot recommend it nor can I even say that they will answer their phone when you don't receive it OR that you will actually receive your food. 872/444-5109

I recommend this restaurant come and try it out. Me and my boyfriend we go out to eat a lot in different places because we want to expirence the different food flavor and plates. But this is one of the restaurants me and my boyfriend enjoy more. Try out the ribs in green sauce (costillitas salsa Verde) is really good. Also the enchiladas en salsa rojo one of my favorites to eat and this restaurant got my approval. They were 5 enchiladas so stock of chicken with beans and rice.
