Querrepario — Restaurant in Lake Township

I spontaneously stopped by while driving to Midway for a weekday lunch. Parking was free and easy to find on side streets, conveniently just off major streets.

Their ambiance is clean, and casual, with some cute decor that spiced the place up. It wasn't too loud or hectic but had a fun vibe. You could order at the table or at the counter, and then the food would be brought out to you. Service was great, polite and friendly, and the lady that took my order also answered all of my questions.

I'd read that the Quesaberrias were excellent, so I had to order that. The menu had a lot of the typical Chicago taqueria fare, which is to say I want to go back and try more of the menu! I also ordered some tamales to go, assuming I would be hungry in the afternoon.

The quesaberrias were awesome! They came out hot and fresh, with a crispy shell, beef stew, and melty cheese that harmoniously worked together. Great for a crisp Fall lunch. The broth was also a great complement for dipping, it wasn't too oily or salty, just had a tasty beef flavor. I tried to save the 3rd quesaberria but I couldn't stop myself....it didn't stand a chance.

The tamales were also solid, moist, and flavorful, with a heat that hits and stays with you.

I'm looking forward to trying more of their food and also eating more...

Husband and l just had dinner here, had an excellent experience. Although it was pretty empty, a plus for us, warm welcome from Norma, the owner. Ordered the Friday special, pambazo de asada, so delicious, the four hot sauces were very good, yes, I tried them all. Husband had the quesabirrias 3 in the order with handmade tortillas and a side cup of caldo. He really enjoyed them. Hot and fresh. We will definitely return to try other items. Positive: Great service, Friendly clean place... Food: ate there a chorizo and papa pambazo it was good 👍 for 10.99 and then tacos dorados for kids they liked very much also got a asada pambazo which was also good. However I will be trying more of their food only thing was that they only have bottle water not like other restaurants around the area where they got ice water in container and the beans were salty that's all but I still go again...
