We usually go for dinner but we tried brunch this time. It was just about 3:00 when we walked in, brunch cut off time, and the hostess was nice enough to give us brunch menus, assuring us it wouldn't be a problem. Our server was also great; it was slow and she spent a lot of time chatting with us. She was also very attentive.
My boyfriend went for the Tunisian style eggs and I had the healthy option, which I don't see on their online menu, so it must not be updated. It's a scramble with asparagus, spinach and avocado, delicious. It came with their seasoned potatoes, which aren't my favorite for brunch. They're in a tomato type sauce with spices, that's the best way I can think of to describe them. He liked the Tunisian eggs but not as much as he'd hoped. The omelets sound good; if we go back for brunch he would have one of those instead.
We finished off brunch with dessert, Greek cheesecake and baklava. I LOVE baklava. The absolute best I've ever had is in Turkey. Andie's is pretty good too, lots of honey, just the way I like it. We liked the cheesecake too.
Their warm, likely grilled, basket of pita is fabulous, which I believe they serve at all meals. If you go for dinner the combination dip sampler is a great appetizer, one of my favorite things there. I also really like their chicken kabob with cousous. My boyfriend likes their combination kabobs with dill rice. He usually does kefta and filet, both...
Read more5 out of 9 members of our party have food allergies (which we specified in our reservation in an attempt to give them a heads up) and the waitstaff were extremely disrespectful and unhelpful in navigating the menu safely. Our waitress was rude and passive aggressive, when we attempted to state our allergies and begin asking questions about the menu she told us to, “calm down, nobody is dying in this restaurant tonight” she then walked away from us without actually answering any questions. We were brought multiple items that we knew were not safe for us to eat. We waited over an hour for our food despite the fact that there were very few other people in the restaurant, then spent half an hour waiting for our check and ultimately had to go to the hostess stand and ask for it. We spent a total of 2 hours in the restaurant and spent significantly more money than our food or our service were worth, no one was apologetic about our mistreatment or unjustified wait times. I would not recommend this place to anyone, food restrictions or otherwise, it a was deeply unpleasant dining experience and the food was not worth it, go literally...
Read moreAndies was a great restaurant for my date tonight. It had a nice charm to it. We originally were seated by the front next to the window which was pretty, but drafty. Not to be held against them, of course since they moved us next to the fireplace instead which more than made up for it. And the rest of the night, they offered great service and food. The lentil soup was tasty and my gyros plate certainly had more personality than a street vendor version of the same dish. Our servers were around regularly, but not intrusive. But one piece of advice they gave was to be aware that the entrees were going to be bigger than we may expect which held true for sure. My date had shrimp and steak kabobs and enjoyed her meal just as much. It was a great environment to talk at a conversational level and still be heard. Maybe it was a quiet night due to the cold, but it was perfect for us. Lastly, I was actually surprised at the price and how much value we got for the final bill. I've spent more on less food at a lesser restaurant recently. I think it's a great value if cost is a concern.
I would recommend Andies to my friends and...
