I’ve been meaning to write this review for so long. It’s long overdue!
Cowboys & Astronauts is the perfect example of an independently owned business that provides a huge asset to our community and is such a pleasure to have in our neighborhood.
They are always super friendly, understanding, professional, and helpful.
We enjoy going in the store to shop and see what new things they have to offer. We also enjoy walking by and giving a wave through the window, and seeing what types of unique new window displays and decor they have.
They seem to be particular and intentional with the brands they sell, so we always know that what we purchase is high quality. Even better - many of the products are sustainable, eco-friendly, and local.
I’d like to share an experience I had with the owner last winter. It was a cold Chicago winter day and I was all bundled up in my jacket, wearing a hat and a mask, walking down the sidewalk. The owner somehow recognized me, and after I had already walked several feet past the store he nicely called after me and said that he had a pick up order ready for my husband. He explained that they were closing for a couple of days for the holidays and had just locked up. He wanted to go back in and grab it so that I could give it to my husband before they closed for a few days. Talk about going above and beyond. I was so pleasantly surprised, especially on a cold winter day after he had already closed up for a much deserved few days off and was probably ready to head home and relax.
These are the types of things that really set independently owned businesses apart. Especially this one! We are so lucky to have this shop in our neighborhood. Thank...
Read moreI noticed their sign today and decided to wander in. As soon as I walked through the door someone came to greet me and that makes all the difference in my book. So often I walk into stores and no one acknowledges my presence, let alone offers help. (They do work in sales, yes?). Cowboys and Astronauts is a nice, elegant shop with a good variety of products from home decor to grooming to apparel. I think it’s an interesting place to shop if you’re looking for a gift, several of the bath products are beautifully packaged, and they even have a good selection of greeting cards. I also noticed nice items for the bar, like martini shakers and ice “cube” moulds for those baller spheres you see at cocktail bars. The clothes aren’t my style but I appreciate their presence; I wish Andersonville had more shops with...
Read moreI had only been in the store once before to look around while in Andersonville for its Holiday Weekend Event. Walking in My friend and I were greeted w a friendly "Hello"., a 1st impression that goes a long way. I surveyed the store casually and then saw a shirt jacket I liked, but decided not to purchase at that moment. I went back a little over a week later, and the shirt jacket was still there. The associate Nick, was very friendly and helpful, actually everyone who was working was. I purchased the shirt jacket and a sweater. The store has a wonderful assortment of merchandise (similar to that of Filson), not only clothing but home accessories as well. Its a well executed and merchandised store. I certainly will go back. Thank You for making my shopping...
