Breakfast House Uptown — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Had the pleasure of visiting this brand new location today (and first time having Breakfast House). Very clean and new, obviously, and the staff were very friendly. The manager came over and introduced himself and welcomed us, recommending beverages and letting us know more options were coming soon.

I ordered the chilaquiles without guac and sour cream and it was delicious. This is one of my favorite dishes to order when trying a new breakfast place that offers it, and this may be the best I’ve had so far.

Great flavors, but the basics need work.

Came in on Sunday with a party of five and a kid. Ordering was quick, but after that our waiter all but vanished. We had no silverware on the table, and even once the food finally arrived, about 30 minutes after we ordered, tasty though a bit on the cool side, we still had to flag someone down twice just to get forks and knives. I overheard the table next to us asking for the same thing, so it wasn’t just us.

The place is lively but really noisy, so be prepared to raise your voice. Also note: parties of five or more are hit with an automatic 20 % gratuity.

Very unfortunate experience this morning - we came in at 10:23, sat immediately next to host station in front door and guy who turned out to be our waiter was at host station at that time. 10 mins. later, no waiter showed. We asked other person who was at host station when we came in about our waiter and she said "oh, are you ready to order?" The the waiter came and took an order from a table seated after us that was right next to us. Afterward, he walked right by us. Then the hostess told him that he was our waiter, and they appeared to be disagreeing about something. We got up and left. Not sure what the problem...
