This place is a hidden (quite literally) gem amidst an otherwise bland(ish) strip of Montrose that is slowly, but surely, on the up and up in terms of bars and restaurants.
Don't be fooled by its unassuming nature. The step down into the garden level from the street, and the name "Loving Heart," may lend it to sound light, but this place is completely outfitted with real plants, many tables, updated floors, and overall nice deco.
The menu is a perfect size. Nothing too much or less. There is a nice option of little Vegan desserts as well.
I would characterize this place as the "indie Native Foods."
Easy accessible from the Montrose bus, Broadway bus, or Wilson Red Line; but probably most convenient for all of the neighbors residing in Buena Park and Uptown nearer the lake and Montrose.
The wrap I had was made perfectly. I have never had good contents better contained in a flour tortilla. At Chipotle, or wherever else.
It was clearly made in a calm setting by an individual who cared about the food (if that matters to you.
This place is great for anyone, not limited to, but especially for Vegans.
I myself am not vegan. I'm not even vegetarian. But this place delivered an absolutely amazing wrap and dessert.
Highly highly recommended. Please stop by and support this friendly and delectable...
Read moreWell, I had a restaurant go way out of the way on Halloween this week! Good guess, it was Loving Heart Cafe! Apparently they were closed that day for maintenance , but I had submitted an online order. I believe it was the owner calling an hour later and apologized profusely, but said they were.closed. “Where else do I eat?” I asked. He said, “let me just make it for you and bring it to your hotel!” Amazed at his tenacity, he delivered all the way across town in traffic for an hour and a half. The food was deelish & I wanted to thank you so much! I’m from Kansas City and I don’t know anywhere here who’d do what you did! If you take time to do this, what other magic are you doing for your customers/friends. My daughter is up there and glad she has a business who feeds their patrons with nutritious food and LOVE. Your name says it all brother and can’t wait to see your beautiful self and team the next...
Read moreI don’t know if I just ordered on an off day or if it’s because of the pandemic, but I have ordered many times before from Loving Heart over the past 4 years & my order from this past weekend was underwhelming. I ordered the curry bowl, potato kale soup, happy burger, and summer roll. The curry bowl & soup were sooooo watered down :( the curry barely had any flavor & the kale in the soup was barely a garnish (I wish I was exaggerating). The Summer Roll used to have peanuts and nori flakes (not anymore) and my partner said the happy burger was very bland.
I don’t know what happened to this restaurant, but we used to love it. I’m sad to say that I won’t be ordering from here anymore, which is such a shame because I want to support all the vegan restaurants in the area. Oh well. I hope the owners/manager reads this and does something to address the quality of the food since it...
