Drink Happy Thoughts - not so happy. Executive working virtually, I sometimes stop in area coffee shops for a change of venue. I tried this one today. I arrived between 2:15 and 2:20 PM and asked the staff member if they had Wifi because I wanted to work there this afternoon, and he said yes. I ordered and paid for my latte, sat down at a table (tables and work spaces are REALLY extra-small and tight - there is only one booth/regular-size table), and unpack my backpack. Just as I was turning on my laptop, he presented the cup and announced (there was only one other occupied table), âjust to let everyone know, we will be closing in about 10 minutes.â I had just made it clear before I ordered, that I was there to work for the rest of the afternoon and try a new spot out. When I asked why didn't you tell me that before I ordered, I got attitude. The latte itself is 1/2 the size I get in Andersonville and Edgewater, in really great coffee shops, that also have tables that provide good or better room to work.
I always visit independent coffee shops to (1) help their business and (2) they usually have better coffee than the chains, and I have never given a negative review until now. The store is small and cramped and the value low. There are much better options nearby and great options in Andersonville...
Read moreWe're so happy to have this new business in our neighborhood. Right now with the stay-at-home order, we can't dine in, but we were very pleased with our pickup order. The food was presented beautifully in its packaging, which created a similar experience at home to dining in. We literally opened our food and went "wow!". We appreciated the recyclable paper straws, boxes, and bag. The cold brew was excellent, as well as the iced horchata latte. I had a delicious and filling smoothie bowl that included homemade peanut butter, cocoa nibs, banana, coconut, and granola. Yum!!!! My husband ordered a huge piece of toast decked out with homemade almond butter, strawberries, basil, chia seeds, and honey. Incredible! He could barely finish it, it was so generous. We also ordered a bag of their in house roasted coffee, which we're pumped to enjoy throughout the week. The beans smell so amazing, and we can't believe the bag is priced at $10. We look forward to DHT being our regular spot. Congrats to the owners for opening during the pandemic and doing such...
Read moreThe food is great, and up until today so was the service. I decided to stay for the first time, and was sitting at a table for about 20 minutes when one of the baristas said that they don't allow dine-in on the weekends, only weekdays. One of the managers had seen me, as had the other barista and neither of them had a problem with it, and no one was even in the coffee shop when I was kicked out. I am frustrated and disappointed by this policy which doesn't make any sense to me. Either allow dine-in every day or don't allow it at all. I'm debating whether I want to return. I had been sitting there for a while and no one was even in the shop when she kicked me out. Rude. Since I can't respond to the owner's response, I'm writing it here-how about posting somewhere what your policy is so that it's not confusing and people don't...
