This place gets four stars simply for the bartender and the mimosa. First time in the joint, host asked if we wanted inside, outside or bar. My daughter and I chose the bar. We sat down and our bartender introduces himself (Nick) because he didn't recognize us. For me, that is a good sign that this guy pays attention to not only his customers, but definitely his regulars. Although it was our first time at Reservoir, Nick made us feel like regulars.

We got the fried chicken biscuit (fried chicken, cheddar, sausage gravy, buttermilk biscuit), the french toast and crab cakes benedict (blue crab, poached egg, creole hollandaise, English muffin). Chicken biscuit was good...my daughter and I split the food between us and when she bit into the sandwich, she sighed and said "oh my god that is good!". Gravy was nice.

The crab cakes were a little bland for me, but to be fair, I am not a fan of any eggs benedict that doesn't use hollandaise sauce as I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to that dish. It was moist. French toast was also just standard...good but not much in the way of flavor.

The mimosas were the star feature for me. The decision to stop in here was based on seeing a parking spot on Montrose. I was not aware of the bottomless mimosa for $15, but decided to get it. Nick was very prompt in explaining that the bottomless mimosas stop at 3 pm, so I had 45 mins on the clock. Nick was very good in being johnny on the spot to refill my glass during that time frame. So I would say if you are thinking of coming in 5 minutes before 3 pm for brunch, don't even think about doing the bottomless mimosa, so plan accordingly.

Saw a couple of burgers go by and they looked amazing, so we will be back to try the lamb burger. Also want to try the roasted beets appetizer. As a fan of beets, it is rare to see them offered on a menu.

Overall this was not a bad dining experience and we plan on...

The atmosphere is really cool here. Chill vibe with a few TV's. Kind of industrial modern feel. Nice spot to hang out.

The food was just ok at best. I tried the BBQ chicken flat bread, risotto with chicken, and au poivre with truffle fries.

The bbq chicken flat bread was not bad. The bread was a little dry and the bbq sauce was plain, but overall it want bad.

The risotto was fairly bland and didn't have a ton of flavor.

The au poivre was ok. The horseradish sauce on the sandwich was good, but the meat was terribly stringy and difficult to eat. The onion straws added very little flavor to the sandwich.

The truffle fries weren't great. They were basically just fast food french fries with a little bit of truffle on them.

Overall, I might order the bbq chicken again, but I would definitely pass on all of the others. I can't say that I will even eat here again because the food wasn't great, and it was fairly expensive (almost $60 after tip, with half off of the flat bread for happy hour).

Update 6/27/20: Just stopped in here for brunch and it was excellent. The chicken biscuit was great. Everything you'd hope it to be. I'll be stopping back again to try more items...

I visited the Reservoir over this past weekend. It’s in a nice location on Montrose. Very nice inside, clean good sized and trendy. The food was outstanding, the ambiance was casual. There was a small band playing by the front door, the music was very nice but a bit too loud. I had a difficult time carrying on a conversation without yelling. It was afternoon and about 75% full. We had a nice table in the middle of the action. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 star review was our server. He is in my top 3 of all time, worst servers. I am very easy to please and rarely get upset with a server. I understand their job is stressful and fast paced but the other servers were doing a fantastic job. The person who delivered our food was very nice, another server picked up our empty plates, she was very nice. The owner or manager even stopped by our table to see how we were doing. I won’t go into detail of why the server was bad but he was. I’m sure I will be visiting again in the months to come. I am looking forward to changing my review after that date. Overall: Great place to eat. Food was outstanding. Casual/Fun atmosphere. Worth...

A friend lives near here and recommended it for an early dinner. Great choice! We chose a table near the window. Split three starters... tenderloin sliders, tilapia fish tacos and fried calamari... and all were excellent. The four sliders were very filling and would have been more than enough as an entree. Service was great... Maria our waitperson took good care of us. Fair pricing considering the quality. Street parking was challenging, and I imagine it would be more so later in the evening. If The Reservoir was in my neighborhood, I'd be here all the time.
