Where do I begin... I sure do miss Horizon Cafe. Pancake Cafe completely stole the menu off The Original Pancake house, not the same execution, but the same items. I was excited once I found out a new breakfast restaurant was moving in, but ihop across the street is a far superior opperation. My issues this morning is due to management and a lack of training to it's employees. I called to place an order, a gentleman quickly answers and says he needs a minute, 7 minutes later a women picks up the phone and asks me to hold, this hold only lasted a minute or so. When I got in to get my order it was ready right when I walked in with the exception for a coffee. About 5 minutes go by waiting for this coffee, the waitress couldn't find the lids to the big cups so I got two little cups. Due to the 3 different people who waited on me they had no idea I didn't pay and I could have easily walked out without paying. So I get home to eat, no silverware in the bag, not a big deal because that I got. It is common in the carryout game to supply that for your customers. Then I see there is no syrup in the bag. The pancakes were so dry and flavorless without syrup I had to trash them. I think these were the first pancakes in my 31 years on this Earth that I haven't eaten. I have a philosophy to give everything a second try and that I'll do with this place. With so many breakfast options in the city Pancake Cafe won't survive long. Oh and one last thing, Fox News Channel really??? All three TV's plastered with Mitch McConnells face on it. Fake News, what's not fake news is this review.
Update** gave this place a second chance, my gf called twice to place an order and nobody picked up. I've worked at a breakfast restaurant for 8 years throughout high school and college, I know what I'm talking about. This place just lost a customer who loves...
Read moreOverall, the restaurant and food itself is really good so don’t get me wrong on that. The 1 star I am giving this restaurant goes straight to the European woman who we believe is the hostess/waiter. The 1 star review is for the owners/managers or whomever to see this and understand what kind of person they have. I’ve been here just a small handful of times and each one has been good, the waiter/waitress of each time was great and attended us well and one in particular was even better amongst the rest, the food is all made to semi-perfection with great tasting flavor combinations and otherwise. Today, October 31st, my fiancée and I had to leave after 40-45 minutes of waiting with NO service whatsoever. Keep in mind, it’s Halloween and everyone is out getting breakfast with friends and family and being that my fiancée works in the food industry, we understand the struggle. All other waiters/waitresses had their own tables and people to worry about in all other parts of the restaurant however the European woman that was the hostess/front waitress today 10/31/21, only ever talked to us once to sit us down and that is it. After 40-45 minutes, we walked out but not because we just waited but because of how she chose to see us and compared us to other costumers. We believe she chose to see us in our comfy clothing as a couple who would not pay for the meal(s) or complain about the prices and otherwise. Not once did she give us water, a busser had to give us our water. She immediately attended a group of friends in nicer and more “office-casual” clothing that came in after the 40 minutes of us waiting. She gave them water personally and right away took their orders while knowing very well that she would look our way the entire 40 minutes. One of the only times I believe someone...
Read moreI just want to say first that our food was very good. Everything I had tasted good and it came out in a timely manner. However I was not that impressed with the server...I never complain or make comments because I was in the service industry for 6 years, so I know how things can be however. Our server was 'Wally C" or that's what it said on the receipt. He seemed to be very frustrated and annoyed with everything - I understand that it was a Sunday afternoon on memorial day weekend, so they were very busy, but he as a bit rude. My friend ordered a side of Canadian bacon and Wally said that American bacon and Canadian bacon aren't the same and that he wanted to explain that because so many people get angry when they order the Canadian bacon. I can understand wanting to make sure someone knows they're different - but the way he was talking to my friend came off as very impatient and condescending. I accidentally spilled my coke and we used our napkins to try to clean it up-but my area of the table was still quite wet and there was ice and coke on the floor underneath me. This is the first time I've ever been in a restaurant where the server or anyone else has never helped clean up a spill or offer to replace the drink that spilled-Wally just ignored the mess. At the end the 3 of us put our cards down to pay the bill and he said "It can only be 2 cards" I was about to say that he can run 2 of the cards and 1 of us would pay the other 2 back, when he got exasperated for no reason and went "Never mind I'll just do it!". It took him all of 1 minute to run all 3 cards too, so I have no idea what the problem was in the first place. Our food was very good, but Wally needs to learn to manage himself better under pressure and when the restaurant is busy, and to try to not take it out...
