Was in this bar a few hours ago. Server was nice to us, but she was calling my husband "honey"-sounded unprofessional and inappropriate to both of us. She didn't called me honey. 🤔 I don't know her name, she didn't introduce herself. We had wings (that was Monday special), my husband had a glass of beer while I ordered margarita. We had table close to a bar and because it was slow I could watch bartender make my drink. I was even curious to see because I was drinking margarita lately. She didn't shake margarita at all. Margarita tasted too sweet and barely could taste alcohol. My husband took a sip and agreed it is too sweet and barely can taste alcohol. I told server that I want to talk to a manager about my drink and turns out that manager was a bartender. I came to a bar and told her that I work in industry and that I don't like taste of margarita and she took drink from me without even letting me finish my complain. Then I asked if she can pour more alcohol cause I barely can taste alcohol, she said with attitude and high eyebrow that she will charge me for that. I was fine with that and asked her if she would be so kind to shake margarita when she replied that she did (although I didn't told her that I was watching her and saw that she didn't). I was charged for a pint of margarita with double shot of patron $19,50. Quality can't be compared with a price at all. Next issue was celery sticks. Apparently if you order 6 wings you get 2 celery sticks and if you order 10 wings you get 3 celery sticks. So we asked for an extra side of celery sticks. That was charged and we were fine with that. We are regular customers from time to time, especially my husband and his friends and with order of wings we/they were getting decent side of celery sticks before. I don't know what have changed in this bar but for sure they need to hire new professional manager and bartender / or train their stuff. I don't know about my husband but I'm not interested in...
Read moreUpdate: We went back for a full dinner on NYE and whewwww… they earned a sixth star. The chicken piccata is one of the best meals I’ve ever had, the pancetta on top totally transforms it and the flavor was just perfect. The strip steak was also great, a nice lean and well-trimmed piece with a very flavorful (and kinda spicy!) rub. Fries were also perfect. The sauteed spinach was yummy too, perfectly garlicky. And we had another round of pear martinis too. My partner described his old fashioned as “safe” - it was the only item that didn’t have us going “wowwww”, but it was still good! Friendly service as always too. I’m so happy to have this place in the neighborhood!
Original review I needed a place to finish my work during finals week after the coffee shop closed and this was perfect - everyone was so, so nice and Marcos even said to let him know if I needed a quieter place to work. Genuinely kind and attentive staff. I’m really looking forward to coming back and enjoying the bar as, you know, a bar! The fireplace ambiance was amazing and the spiced pear martini was so good, also loved the brussels sprouts. I was surprised to see how lively it was inside already at only three weeks open, which is...
Read moreThe evening bar manager is rude and doesn't honor the prices on their website. Overcharged for their Wednesday Burger special claiming "the website is out of date". They also charge twice as much for side dressings than other restaurants/bars in the area. The bar tender also claimed that the mayo was homemade claiming it was on their menu. It isn't on the menu in the homemade dressing did it taste homemade.
It's a shame because the environment was nice and the food was good. Great place to watch sports and get a tasty bite . Unfortunately their bar manager poorly trained the waitresses on how to trwat customers who question their receipts. The bar manager clearly doesn't care to make new customers in the neighborhood.
I would've like to come here more often with friends. Guess I'll stick to my usual spots on Lincoln Ave like Gideon and Wells, Rocks Northcenter and the Wild Goose. They post their prices accurately (this place doesn't even post all their prices on the menu-obviously they want to gouge...
