I finally made it to a Sip & Savor coffee location. This nice looking interior wise location closest to my residence is the first one I finally purchased something from. The very first one I visited was with my mom on 47th Street in Bronzeville, but only she bought something from them because I was buying something from another business in that same area.It is a very NICE location too interior wise especially.Anyway, the customer service at this Edgewater location I just came from today was most definitely good enough for me to come back and I most definitely will be back indeed very soon.I ordered a regular sized medium roast black coffee without sugar and cream.I also ordered one of their blueberry muffins and the gracious female cashier asked me if I wanted it heated up.I said yes and she did heat it up indeed. The coffee was most definitely served freshly hot and the blueberry muffin was warned up warm enough without ruining the muffin texture wise.I hope they have decaffeinated versions of all of their coffee varieties because for now on that's the only version of their hot coffees I will be ordering.I can't believe I forgot to ask them for the decaffeinated version on my debut visit. They also have multiple diverse kinds of other drinks and drink based specialties (Coffee & Non-Coffee based) that I am extremely interested in trying, period. The seating had lightly cushioned chairs with standard tables and cushioned bench seating tables too.One of their bench seating cushioned tables had a "Do Not Sit At/Broken Table" sign on it though. They have two restrooms too,but one of them had an "Out Of Order" sign on it unfortunately. The other one I never went into so I can't tell you what it looked like or how clean it was or wasn't.They also had background "music" playing from the ceiling area too that I don't like, but the volume was so low it didn't get on my nerves like the overwhelming majority of other business fortunately.Too Many of the other customers that was sitting in this location with me was Organically Rude though, because on purpose they were NOT covering up their mouths whenever they was hacking and coughing.Their extremely frequent hacking and coughing was SO LOUD,I just knew without a shadow of a doubt that they Don't Care about their neighbors at all sitting in there with them that are NOT sick or don't have an Immune System that's suspiciously Too Low,period.Between me and you,I literally think that I was the only one there NOT Jabbed Up with the totally unnecessary COVID-19,Flu,and the rest of the totally unnecessary Vaccines, period.More than likely, that's what all of the extreme hacking and coughing was based on,but I digress.I got a feeling that my best experiences maybe at this location or maybe any other location for this Coffee franchise will probably be manifesting in the future perhaps.I just now finding out today on my subsequent visit that this franchise NO longer sells Decaffeinated coffee.Another female employee or a manager or the owner of this location told me that they NO longer sell Decaffeinated coffee because it wasn't popular ladies and gentlemen. This includes ALL of the locations in Chicago,NOT just this one in Edgewater unfortunately. She said they had Decaffeinated coffee when they first opened up years ago.I now have infinitely mixed feelings about this franchise, because even other businesses of beverages and bites to eat that I Don't like or Hate offer Decaffeinated coffee, regardless of the sales or the popularity of that version of coffee, period.I most definitely would've purchased the Decaffeinated coffee option if they would've kept it infinitely because Decaffeinated coffee is my favorite coffee of all time, period. It's infinitely too bad that this franchise NO longer offers Decaffeinated coffee unfortunately.I am now forced to go to their best coffee competition for Decaffeinated coffee because of this infinitely unfortunately fact. One more thing I must expose,is that all or almost all of the muffins I have ordered so far at this location gave me inflammation in the roof...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was greeted upon entering. I really enjoyed that. Most of the customers were already settled and enjoying the items they ordered. So I was easily seen. Others times I get greeted when itās my turn to order which is fine too. I always get a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. The cheese is Munster which pairs well with the sandwich! I like their dessert options too. Theyāre not a bakery so I donāt expect them to make the desserts in house. What matters to me is the dessert tastes good. And my red velvet cake was delicious! It was moist and nothing about it tasted artificial. Iād order it again! A different time, I ate a cheesecake brownie. I think I inhaled it; which satisfied my brownie craving. I appreciate that it looks like a unique neighborhood coffee shop. They even have regulars. The young lady turned to say bye to them as she was moving around making items behind the counter. I noticed they treated everyone the same. When I came I saw different cultures and ages. They all seem to be enjoying themselves. I read the other reviews. Iām not sure what others were expecting to see, but I like the vibe. One of the regulars was in a wheelchair, so maybe its spacious to accommodate accessibility. I even like how the owner responds to the reviews! Most big chains donāt do that. This location is closer to me. Iāve visited their other locations and my experiences were good their too. Iām glad they opened this location so I donāt have to travel far for a tasty breakfast sandwich. They even have a loyalty program. I got a free item for my birthday! Iš„³ . I donāt drink coffee, but most tables had some type of drink. So theyāre doing something right. Iāll try a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTLDR: Tasty lattes, decent working space, and convenient location (near Bryn Mawr Red Line). Now here's the inside scoop:
| Pros | ā Coffee: tried the Caramel Royale latteāa signature drink of theirsāand it was delicious (priced at about $6.50 to date) š Seating: lots of seating to get work done (feels like a neighborhood coffeeshop after just a week of operating)
| Things to Consider | š¶ OK WiFi: although secure, WiFi clocked in at an average of 24Mbps. Password can be found on your receipt when you order š Tables: for the remote workers, a few more tables would be a nice addition later on (just an IMO so take it with a grain of coffee grind!)
Truly respect the hustle from the owners in starting something new here in Edgewater. Overall, great spot worth checking out if you are looking for...
