Willies Dick 'n Chicken — Restaurant in Lake View Township

I wish I would have been able to try the food, but I've never any person in any service industry treat me like I was a complete moron after saying just a few words. This wasn't playful banter, it was literally the rudest, most horrible person I've ever come across behind a counter.

Saturday, 9/20 I had a friend staying with me and we decided to order from here because I had never tried it. It always looked like a fun place with good food. We both looked at their menu on their website. She decided what she wanted at my place. I wrote down what she wanted and I went to go order and bring it back.

When I walked in, I started to place my order. "I'd like a Breakfist Pocket please" "Oh my what is THAT? What are you even talking about?" in the most condescending tone I've heard in years. I showed them their menu I was looking at on my phone. "Oh my god , that not even the menu! What's wrong with you?" points to the apparently different menu on the TV screens behind him and says "Gawd, tell me when you're ready" as they walk to the back, almost audibly rolling their eyes at me.

I was astonished. I thought some dude with a camera was gonna come out from the back like it was a prank TV show.

I'm sure there are great people working there other than this person, and the food looks great too. I have NEVER felt more disrespected or made to feel like a complete idiot by a person in any service industry in my life, and because of them I will...

This place is great and definitely a unique experience. The guys at the counter making your order put on a show as they embellish your order. If you are conservative and easily offended then this place isn't for you. I wouldn't bring kids here either bc the language can be graphic. It's hilariously awesome though and I would at least recommend stopping by for a quick treat after dinner or a date. For what it is though, prices are a bit steep. I ordered two Willie's, and an order of 3 chicken strips ( which were some of the best strips I've had in the area) and spent nearly $50. That's not including tip, which makes sure you do tip bc these guys are def putting on a performance for you. I would frequent this place more if the prices were a little cheaper. I think this spot would do way better if prices dropped at least under $10...

Only a one star because despite the fact that the restaurant was open, the kitchen refused to take my order… an order that was deliberately simple because as a service worker myself I try not to inconvenience others in the industry.

I hold no blame to the business nor to the amazing cashier/service person who assisted us and tried to help us make the least intrusive/difficult order we could knowing they were closing… but being told that the “kitchen refuses to take your order” at 1:40 when they close at 2 is a hard pill to swallow, and again, I say that as a service worker.

So pluses for food and for the service of the front of house staff but I think the kitchen staff needs some proper training on how to close in a way that doesn’t cost the business…...
