Not bad, good for a bite but not on my top ten or high on the list to return...I had the Cheesy, Half and Half fries, and a fountain drink. I asked for the burger to be medium and the counter person said okay, but the burger was so well done the interior was white/grey...not even a touch of pink or any juices.
My first impression walking in was not great either...the counter person did not say anything at all just stood there looking at me expectantly...even after I said "Hello"... not a word of reply, not even "What would you like?" Or a hello in return or anything...I figured okay, they are just new or socially awkward or it's just not their best day...no big deal.
When my meal was brought out to me it was delivered by a different employee who equally as laxking in customer service skills as the countet person. It was hot and fresh. The fries were good and had the right amount of salt, the dipping sauces were a nice selection and I enjoyed the Chipotle Mayo...the burger was cooked to overdone as I mentioned before and the bun was so firm I removed the top part and ate the burger patty on the bottom bun only. The taste was okay (if a little salty) but the burger was ruined by overcooking in my opinion.
Other than that I really wanted to like the place - they do have a pretty nice patio dining area, but burger21 misses on the little details:
1 - poor service 2 - overcooked burgers 3 - dismal self serve drink area 4 - shallow sink basin with high pressure water guaranteed to splash you when you wash your hands
Overall, burger21 is better than some bigger fast food chains but it is not on par with what you would get at almost any other restaurant. Since burger21 specializes in burgers this is a big flaw...and quite disappointing...I paid almost 20 for burger, fries, and fountain soda. I believe you can get better food and much better...
Read moreSuper happy with our meal every time we come here. We have had a couple of incidents (of course, this comes when you go to a place so often). They ran out of the buns for our daughters sliders once and didn't mention it until she had her meal in hand. She ate it but mentioned it several times. They compensated her for this (without request). We had a couple of new people take our orders at the counter and this leads to the likely mistakes. Incorrect items being sent to the table or items included on the burger that shouldn't. Again, the issues were resolved without incident / request and we left happy. They have an awesome Gluten Free menu and a dedicated work space. The GF bun is great and comparable to a regular bun. The GF sweet potato fries hit the spot every time. I like that all the sauces at the sauce bar are identified with a "GF" if Gluten Free. My son and I do not like that the tomato is always on the bottom of the meat which causes the bun (especially the GF bun) to get very soggy, very quickly. We are currently addicted to the Banana Foster Milkshake. It is delicious. Outdoor seating area is comfortable. There is a men's and women's bathroom. Interesting that there is a dog eating or staring at hotdogs in the ladies bathroom.. The pun is not lost upon me. We are disappointed that the super awesome sink is no longer at the entrance of the restaurant. There is a sink there but not superior like it's predecessor. Overall a nice menu selection for adults and children alike. Beer is served here. Orders can be placed to go via online ordering, at the counter, or over the phone. They have a to go / take out...
Read moreWe have visited Burger 21 many times and I had been wanting to try their specialty burger of the month, the Bayou Burger. So tonight we ordered that with a cup of chili for the side, and the Black and Blue burger with a side of fries. The Bayou Burger is a handcrafted Andouille sausage and turkey burger and topped with blackened shrimp, finished with remounted, sriracha and house made Rajun Cajun slaw. Our total with two non-alcoholic drinks was $30.58. I have to say that the Bayou Burger was quite a bit more spicy than I could enjoy. The spice masked the flavors of the burger so much that I can’t really say what or how it’s tasted. The shrimps were cooked a bit too long as they were a bit rubbery. The chili was pretty tasty and I would order it again although it was $3.99 for a very small cup. The Black and Blue burger is one of our standard orders when we visit and it was tasty as always. The fries were cooked right but quite a bit over salted tonight. I love that Burger21 features a new specialty burger each month and I’m glad I tried the Bayou Burger. I knew it would be spicy but was a little surprised at how spicy it is. There are many people that like a whole lot of spice and I know they will love this burger. This restaurant is always clean and well maintained and the staff is nice and friendly. They have ample seating inside and out. We will...
