I always love these Painting with a Twist classes. Last week I had painted my late kitty, CleoAnn - it came out amazing. However, I had the desire to also paint my late Rajah-Lynn so both paintings could be on the wall at the same time, so I started looking around fora Painting with a Twist class that was doing one soon and found this location was doing it this weekend - PURRFECT! 😸
So I paid for my class and sent in my picture so they could trace it out on the canvas for the class. I drove over from Orlando and arrived to find that it wasn't just an outline of my kitty, but a whole charcoal drawing! I could have just walked out with it like that! It was amazing!
Abigail and Alex were great. They each walked around and helped or gave suggestions. Three hours flew by! (We all were wishing for just another 15 minutes. LOL) I had a great time and am happy to go home with my paiinting so I can put CleoAnn and Rajah-Lynn together (they were sisters for 11 years).
The only suggestion I would make - at the Painting with a Twist I normally go to, the offer a paintable wooden frame for your artwork for a small uncharge. I would gladly have bought the upcharge.... and probably others in that class would have also. (It was already on the sketch when class started and they sent me home with a small "takeout container" of paint to finish at home.) Just a bit of money your shop could be adding to their sales.
But all in all, I had a great...

Our instructor Abigail was awesome- very high energy and kind and easy to follow along with. I’ve taken many painting classes before this and already knew what I was doing so I didn’t need as much help, but it was new for most of my coworkers so Abigail was super amazing assisting them when needed or giving them guidance on what to do next.
We chose “Broccoli” the cat, and you have the option to follow along with the instructor and paint your canvas exactly like the demo or go your own route- I chose to make mine look like my own sweet kitty so it’s fun to have some creative freedom if you so choose.
They host a lot of different events here, even a “paint your pet” night. After you come and paint something, if you want something fixed, adjusted or help with it you can come in any saturday morning and the artists will help you adjust your painting for free!
Normally, this is a paint & sip place as well so you can bring a bottle of wine or your drink (alcoholic or NA) of choice to sip while you paint which is fun too. Definitely recommend this for a date night, girls night, coming with family or even to one of the events by yourself, it’s a great way to wind down and let your inner...
Read moreOur first time at any Painting with a Twist. I found the cute owl painting the night before at 2:30 am and called in the morning to see if they had room. My daughter and I went and had a lot of fun. Abigail was a great instructor. She made it fun. All was great until the last few minutes my daughter went in to do a touch up and hadn't washed the black out of her paint brush. Her 10 year old mind thought it ruined and the tears were flowing. Of course, we fixed it and it looks great. Afterwards, like later that evening, she is fine with her painting. She did have fun and wants to go again. I do as well. Don't let to tears fool you, she did have a great time, just she's hard on herself. I want to add, at the beginning of the class a woman with a walker came in and was instantly mad because someone was in the seat that she "always sits in". She was not nice and even less so when the person sitting there said she requested the seat and wasn't moving. Abigail was finishing up in the back getting ready and missed all of this but she handled the unpleasant lady well. She did leave, will probably leave a negative review. She was wrong and completely rude from the moment the door opened for her to come in. Pretty much yelling at everyone because she couldn't have her spot. I just wanted to put that...
