My grandmother and I arrived and were sat promptly. The first thing I took notice of was the atmosphere. Walkin' on Sunshine was playing, putting me in an elated mood. I sat in a booth not too far, yet not too close, to the entrance. I could sit and people watch and ponder people's lives and our inevitable deaths and impending end of the world. The seats were so plush and I sunk deeper than the great sinkhole of Winter Parks. The seats were so comfortable. So comfortable I willingly suffered the ire of my mother for not coming to find her after she and my brother came to meet us. Twas' her fault for not arriving on time in the first place. Harrumph! We sat and ordered appetizers, specifically the Trio Sampler™ and it was delicious aside from the fact that my brother made is subject to his experiments and concoctions consisting of Pico de Gallo, Nacho Cheese and Beef, and Spinach and Sour Cream, as well as Chicken Tenders and Tortilla Chips. Thankfully I survived, hence why you are able to read this now. I had seasoned broccoli, and it was adequately seasoned. I'm black and southern, so you know I know what I'm talking about 🤪. Anyways my brother suffered from the generous amount of mushrooms on his Philly Cheese Steak (I manifested for karma to strike him down and it was promptly answered if his extended bathroom trip is anything to go by. He's sensitive to mushrooms but that never stopped him 😒). We ate our food without any further problems. My grandmother expressed her authority over alcohol by stating that no one is permitted to drink if she can't. Alas, I didn't get, as the people say, "white girl wasted". I was so full I could bust after eating all the appetizers. I have half a rack of ribs left and a broccoli and Cheese Casserole (Highly recommend btw. Chef's Kiss💋). We sat and we discussed life, as well as plotted our evil deeds and debauchery. Just another day as usual. Point is 10/10, would recommend! Especially for casual meeting and discussions regarding villanhood and Pettiness ™ (Everyone minds their...
Read moreMy dine in experience today was awful. After arriving and waiting a few minutes to be sat, we had to wait almost 20 minutes before our server greeted us. We finally ordered our drinks and appetizers. The appetizers took forever to come out and once they did, we didn't see our server for awhile. She came back at one point to let us know our food was about to be coming up and that she would be back with a drink refill. What seemed like 30 minutes went by and we were still waiting, drink empty. We flagged down a host and asked her what was going on and she went to check. Clearly something was going on because not even 5 minutes later someone brought our food out. I asked that person for some extra honey mustard for my tend which he never came back with. The manager somehow became aware of the issue and came to check on us and I asked her to get me a refill as we hadn't seen our server in quite sometime. She had the server bring us our refill and then as we sat awaiting our check she came back and told us we needed to pay on the POS terminal mounted to the table. She also mentioned she spoke with our server about everything. Food was just okay, not the same quality as previous experiences. The main thing here is the service! We felt ignored. We were offered no comps or even an explanation. I wish we at least would've been told why our service was lousy. Maybe our table wasn't normally in the servers section or who knows what reason there may have been for this? Maybe just negligence? I don't know but it would've have been nice to understand the reason since they weren't super busy or anything we just couldn't understand what went wrong. Again, it makes me feel as though we were just forgotten about. I'm wondering if it had something to do with the fact that we were sat in a booth in the bar area instead of the dining side. In any case, you missed the mark on service for this visit. Been dining at cheddars for almost a decade now and this is the worst service I've had at any of...
Read moreMy son and I were staying at the holiday inn behind the restaurant as hurricane refugees. On our 1st night we stopped in for dinner and got Karissa as our server. She was AWESOME! The croissants were delicious! My son loved his chicken tenders and fries. My steak was good, as were the mashed potatoes and gravy and broccoli cheese casserole. But the star of this meal was the sautéed mushrooms. I eat a lot of mushrooms and they were some of the best I've ever had. The next day we stopped in for lunch before the big storm. We were seated at a table in the bar area and weren't asked if that was OK first. I dont like being around alcohol or the vibe of a bar, so please ask your patrons if that's ok before seating people there, especially if they have children...... my son once again got the tenders and fries, and I got the lunch special chicken sandwich and a loaded baked potato. The sandwich was tasty and the portion size was great, but the potato was teeny tiny. That was fine for lunch, maybe they use larger potatoes for dinner. It was good. I just didn't like being seated in the bar without being asked when the restaurant was mostly empty. Our server this time was also the bartender and she was ok but could have been more friendly and welcoming. She also never checked on us after our food was served. Oh and I cannot forget that we used the little trivia thing they force on your table and was never told it costed money... I was disappointed to be charged $2.99 on the bill for the game when there was no warning that it costed anything and we only played it for about 5 minutes... Again, the server wasn't very friendly or apologetic about it, though she did remove it from the bill. We didn't have a bad experience and the food was good, just giving the restaurant feedback that I feel is useful. We would come back for sure, we just wouldn't sit in the bar or use the...
