Denny's — Restaurant in Lakeland

Updated Review: From a 5 to a 1 star in just a year. We've ordered from them a couple of times through DoorDash, but never again. The order was never fully correct, but DoorDash would give us credit and all was well. Until today...I see now that the issue with Denny's not caring. How do I know this? Ordered a BYOGS as well as a Double Moons over My Hammy and some other items. All came except for the BYOGS. Contacted DoorDash, received credit and did what I never do and reordered the same meal from Denny's again. Get a call from my Dasher saying that Denny's claims the order has been picked up. I explain that our 1st order was but that it was incorrect so this is a reorder. He keeps me on the phone so I can hear the conversation. Denny's employee tells him that the order was picked up and multiple dashers have been in for the order. He tells them that that isn't true and this is a reorder. Manager comes over and Dasher fills him in. Now all of a sudden they find the order in their computer and are able to make it...Dasher calls me back to verify when he gets the food and on my go ahead checks everything. Still missing biscuits. Honestly, if it weren't for my Dasher this experience would have been a complete bust. Denny's will not get our business anymore seeing as they don't care and try to blame the customer.

Went on Monday for my birthday (gotta get that free grand slam!) and had a wonderful time. This was our first visit to this location. It was very clean and the staff were very efficient with their time. When we arrived it was decently busy, but we were sat very quickly. Our food arrived in a timely manner and tasted great. I had no issue claiming my free meal and the waitress even wished me a Happy Birthday...

This location (S. Florida Ave Lakeland)has really gotten bad. Went for dinner tonight(Mothers Day) 4 adults and 4 children. Our whole order was messed up except for pancakes. We had to send back at least 6 things. Not to mention items missing from the order. Then as my daughter got frustrated she went to talk to a manager. Our waitress and another one who's dad is a manager here got really rude with my daughter. Saying "well not EVERYTHING was wrong" and my daughter says "this happens everytime we eat here." So one of the waitresses asked "so why do you keep eating here?" Than a manager that doesn't usually work on Sunday and Monday basically said that we shouldn't come on Sunday or Monday because there would be problems...with these particular waitresses. So she basically said we as customers are limited to when we can dine here. She did take some money off the check . But just couldn't believe that she knows these employees have issues and telling us the best way to handle those issues was to just stay away on Sunday and Monday. At the end of the meal my daughter was crying and apologizing to me because this was supposed to be my Birthday/Mothers Day dinner. I told her it was most definitely not her fault. We were just treated very badly, with rudeness and employees who just can't do their job. I hope this gets addressed because I don't think it's right for us to be asked not to come to eat if these employees...

Been going to Dennys for 40 years and never had this horrible of an experience. Had a waitress that kept leaning over our table and food with an overly large old sweat jacket on. Continuously putting her sleeves in our food, and on the side of the plates, was absolutely avoiding our table and not attentive at all acting as tho she didn't want to be there. She brought me hash browns that were so overly cooked it was like crunching on hard cereal. I asked to have them replaced after finally seeing her walk by 10 min later and not being able to eat my meal together with my daughter. She took a deep breath as if we were disturbing her and left the burnt ones on the table. She returned 5 min later, set the new ones on the table not saying a word and left. My daughter and I wanted drink refills but the next time we saw her, she was dropping off the check. I was highly disappointed and felt we wasted money and our time. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because on the way out, the waitress that took my payment apologized for the lady, explained it wasn't the first complaint and was super nice. That's really sad tho.... it's not an experience I wish to pay my money for...
