As long as you don’t care for customer service and atmosphere, this place is just fine.
The interior looks like a mechanic’s waiting area and has black and gray wallls with a red stripe down the center and there were 0 smiles on anyone’s faces. As someone else mentioned previously, there still is no direction for thepick up area and you have to have come before to know where to go otherwise.
Picking up my online order, I gave the girl my name, my phone number, order method as well as showed her my order and she insisted I show her where on the order my name was. Since I could not find that part on my order, she took my phone to look and also couldn’t find it herself from my online order that showed …my order… still, it was a five minute back and forth.
Unsuccessful finding my name specifically on the site where I showed her my order she FINALLY goes to the rack (that she had not glanced at the whole time previously) and starts reading out my phone number… and name… and order… and handed me my small bag of food I spent almost $40 on.
The food was decent and nothing special and they gave small portions for the price. Children did enjoy it but it was lacking much flavor and the ribs tasted tough and just ok. I would probably visit again but only if asked by the kids, it would not be my first choice otherwise. Hopefully the owners read these reviews and adjust their systems and how they run their business...
Read moreI have not eaten Puerto Rican fried rice in over 5 years. It was a big part of my childhood from the town I was raised in. When I heard of this place I decided to check it out with my husband to see if the rice would taste the same. It did! Their fried rice took me back to my childhood, and their fries were just as perfect as I remembered. We did takeout and they gave us quite big portions. The inside of the place wasn't that pretty, but I didn't expect anything perfect, they barely have any customers. I felt bad because their food is delicious. They deserve more recognition, and I am here to do what I can to get some for them. I brought some of the fried rice home for my mom to try because we were both raised in the same town and ate at the same local Chinese restaurant, and she had so much nostalgia. Puerto Rican fried rice has the flavor regular Chinese restaurants don't have! And this place nailed it. The menu is both in Spanish and English, and they have many tables inside. For those saying the food here is expensive: I used to buy Chinese food from a regular place and their combo options with rice and a choice of meat would be $11, and these costed about the same price with twice the amount of food. Will definitely come back for those fries and the rice. I'll totally try their fried...
Read moreI was so hyped for this place but so sad as soon as I got there. We got there and had to wait for them to open, which is fine. We walk in to the strong smell of cleaner. I get that it’s first thing when they open but it’s that cleaner that the smell lingers, and over powers the food smell. I like to smell the food in a restaurant. We were second in line and about 8th to get our food. A lot of the tables were already dirty which made no sense to me, except that they must not have cleaned them off the night before. I went to the bathroom to find no toilet paper, and the soap was basically just water so I couldn’t actually clean my hands. The food was meh. Fries were from a bag, rice was bland and dry, no crab Rangoon, frozen egg roll heated up. The fried chicken and pork were decent, but not great, and not enough to send me back. I feel bad, because I’d love for them to do well, but there’s so many improvements that...
