To start off, this place was a huge disappointment, (I cannot speak for the whole group though as some seemed to enjoy it). No one was in the diner when a member of our party reserved a table, "'Ten to 12 people are coming, and they'll be thirsty." was told to them. We get there, and there is ONE ice water there. Then people come piling in there and we wait patiently. The kids are drawing and laughing and being kids. 1 table, 2 table and many more are served before us, although we had arrived first. We had to all share menus, as they didn't have enough for us (not to mention they were sticky and drawn on). We wait forever and the waitress (who I have nothing against, very nice) takes our order. As I myself am not a huge pie-eater, I decided to go off on a whim and try a piece of wild berry pie. Nope, they had none. Okay, many stores run out, sweet potato pie was my next choice. ( They also didn't have coconut custard pie and silverware.) They did not have that either so I went with a root beer float . After that we waited about 30 minutes (even though it felt longer) They give us most of our food. They still didn't have their onion rings and 2 to 3 pies. The root beer float (as I cannot be certain) seemed to have freezer burn, as it felt as if there were chunks of ice in the ice cream. I gave up on that, and tried a bit of a friends pie, it tasted like sticky chocolate glue. Soon after the onion rings came ( 4 to 6 huge greasy onion rings that had their breading falling off.) There was no salt on them, and all you could taste was grease. Some water also spilled and there were barely any napkins or staff to help clean it up. Then when paying the check it took a very long time (but there were separate checks). Not...
Read moreWhat an incredible dining experience! We had excellent service and fantastic food. We read about this restaurant in ONLY IN YOUR STATE in an email I got. We both wanted to come here and try it months ago, but it’s over an hour drive from Palm Harbor. But today it was on the way home after a long day at the theme parks in Orlando.
Jerry was incredible. He took our orders, and our food came out quickly. We started with a great fresh salad each: hard boiled egg slice, cucumbers, bacon bits, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. Husband raved about ranch dressing. He asked if he could buy it, but they don’t sell it. I had the honey mustard - it was good too.
Next came our entrees- country fried steaks with white gravy. Breading on country fried steak was delicious! It was light and didn’t upset my stomach (sensitive to fried foods). This was the Wednesday special, so we got 3 sides instead of two for the same price as Senior Special. In addition to a salad, Husband got apple sauce & mashed potatoes. I got the potatoes, too, and fresh fruit. I can’t stomach cantaloupe which came with the fresh fruit. Instead of a smaller portion, Jerry got me more grapes with the pineapple, blueberries and strawberries. We both got a corn muffin. Everything was so very good.
For dessert Husband got the coconut cream pie to go. He & I were so full! He’ll enjoy it later. It looks delicious. He might even give me a bite! We have to come back again every time we’re in the area, or on the way home...
Read moreThis is a review of the Reesecliff family diner.
I wanted to like this place so much because our guests had talked so greatly about it and wanted to bring us there as a special meal.
Unfortunately I would not return. I was asked if I would like cornbread with my meal and I said yes and received none. I was asked what kind of dressing I would like for my salad and when I said ranch I was brought out honey mustard. That would all be fine if the waitress had come back a few times to ask if everything was okay which it wasn't.
I had the pot roast which was the special of the evening and I paid extra for a side of mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. The green beans came out piping hot and well seasoned in a small dish, the mashed potatoes came out barely at room temperature with zero flavoring and taste and appear to be of instant variety. My biggest concern was the pot roast that came out barely at room temperature not even warm and had almost no flavoring also.
One of our party members asked for chicken fried chicken and they brought out chicken fried steak which they did admit was wrong and our guest said that was fine.
Another person at our table ordered fish and was brought out chicken to which they just sat there and ate it and said nothing.
Two other individuals at the table also looked not impressed at the mashed potatoes that they were brought out because they too were not even warm and had...
