Loud music and expensive drinks. $9.50 for a glass of house wine, $2.50 for a diet coke. Been there with and without a band. Never experienced a time where I was able to have a conversation. And the sound was bad each time there was a band. I would rather stay at home and listen to music there.
Additional response to owner's response: Thank you for the edit you offered. I have revised the review so it is more correct. I apologize for the mistake. However, in terms of your response describing the venue as as LAKELAND'S LIVE MUSIC VENUE does not say anything about the sound quality of the venue. If anything it is appropriate you put that all in caps because it suggests loudness but not sound quality. The sound quality was poor. Perhaps that is why the live musicians used hand signals for the duration of the show to get the sound quality appropriate. Unfortunately that didn't occur. The sound was muddled and poor. You can take this review as an opportunity to evaluate the acoustics of Union Hall or you can just call someone who disagrees a "Boomer" (which I'm not by the way) and dismiss it altogether. And also, you charge $2.50 for maybe five ounces of diet coke. Each time. No refills. Pretty sure Chili's offers refills for free and the...
Read moreOn a whim I decided to stop in to this place as my buddy and I drove past. It's right next door to a bar that we used to frequent back in our youth so that was our primary target upon parking. We went to that place and it was a smoking trainwreck as it usually is... Places like that or much more fun when you're much more younger. So then we saw a small crowd gathering around the Union Hall. We walked over and there was a band playing and it was good. Upon surveying the crowd they seem to be more our age which is to say, middle-aged. So we grabbed a couple drinks which were reasonably priced and mingled a little bit. It turned out to be a good evening except that we got there about two or three songs before the band quit playing. I believe this place is open until much later so not quite sure why the band shut down so early. Once they did, it seemed to empty out fairly quickly.
This review is based only on one quick visit that I sort of wish would have lasted longer... I'll revisit this review after a couple of more trips because as of now, it's definitely a place that I want to...
Read moreI hosted a surprise party for my husband's 60th birthday at Union Hall. Melina, the events coordinator, was a pleasure to do business with. She made sure that my reservation was seamless. She was there early to open the venue for myself, our musician and the caterers. The venue itself is absolutely lovely and historic. The seating and stage are perfect for music and mingling. The bar is gorgeous and it's a full liquor bar which makes for a great time! Parker helped us get the sound set up and made sure that we did not have any technical difficulties. Lastly, the bar staff were fantastic. They were pleasant and the service was stellar. They helped us clean up our catering after everyone had left, which they did not have to do. This is an absolutely perfect venue, historic, great space, clean bathrooms, great setup, great outdoor space for more mingling and plenty of parking! This is definitely an asset to the Dixieland footprint. Will absolutely use them again! ...
