TA Slammers is exactly what a dive bar is supposed to be â cheap drinks, smoking inside, pool tables, and a narrow âone long alleyâ layout where you can see everyone the second you walk in. No draft beer, no kitchen, just chips and boiled peanuts â survival rations for when the drinks hit faster than expected. Come for drinks not dinning.
The bathrooms⊠listen â I donât recommend trying to discover spiritual enlightenment in there, but if you absolutely need to drop off a tax deduction, the option exists. Function over comfort. Blink-and-youâre-done type bathroom where you lose your soul on the bowl đđ±
There is some atmosphere but it isnât the building â itâs the bartenders service. They are 95% of the identity of this place, and the reason people come back instead of wandering next door.
Tori is the grounded core of the bar â the one with quiet heart. Sheâs got that âolder sibling who came back from the military and chilled outâ vibe, but with more warmth and realness under it. Sheâs steady, calm, and stoic but genuinely gives a damn about the people who sit in front of her. No theatrics â just presence, loyalty, she knows the people and has the kind of heart that makes a dive bar feel like a home base. Think warm heart, steel spine â kindness first, consequences on deck.
Taylor is pure spark and chaos in the best way â if an e-girl clown and Roz from Monsters Inc. fused with a dash of Harley Quinn energy, thatâs her. She doesnât just make a drink, she performs it â attitude, comedy, and delivery all in one shaker. And if you start acting stupid, sheâll 86 you with a smile and make it look effortless.
Together, they are Slammers. Without them, itâs just a smoky hallway with alcohol with a door that slams. With them, itâs the kind of dive bar people actually come back to...
Read moreSlammers is 100% my go to bar when friends want me to take them somewhere "different". Or they straight up ask for a dive bar. Make no mistake, this is most definitely a dive bar. I read reviews that obviously were looking for something else and got lost here. It's an eclectic crowd nearly any weekend night. Metal songs for a bit, throw in some old country, add in a bit of rap then the classic 80s hair band stuff. If you've never been, I could imagine it's a tad intimidating. The place is small and pretty smokey. Dimly lit and well... your average dive bar. Any time I've visited, which isn't so much now a days, everyone was very friendly. Or at least open to being friendly toward you. It's honestly one of the few places I've seen bikers, ghetto kids (of many races), loud ass metal heads and the camo hat country people all hang out and enjoy everyone. It's not a big place at all and you won't be ordering too many mixed drinks, at least nothing elaborate. Grab some cheap PBR and a few tequila shots and pay your $25 tab. I left off a single star because it's so, so, so very smokey in there. It's tiny with very little ventilation. I know, it's a bar and it should be expected but I'm an ex-smoker and not the biggest fan...
