I liked this place! The person who took my phone order was very helpful and thorough for making sure everything was ordered correctly. We got:
Tom Kha: I love this soup and this one hit the spot. I do think this is a bit overpriced though at $7 for a pint sized bowl.
One thing I do enjoy about this place is the half portions. They're the perfect size for a meal for me without leftovers. The prices for the entrees are on par with other restaurants in the area.
Red Curry: This is what I came for, since I love a red curry with pineapple in it and it's very hit and miss around here that restaurants make their red curry with it. I got medium spiced and it is flavorful, but it had to have been the spiciest medium curry I've ever had. It packs quite a punch. I would have liked a bit more pineapple and basil in it as well but that's on me and I'll just ask for extra next time.
Pad Se-Ew: This wasn't bad, but not to my taste. A bit too sweet for me.
I would have liked to get some summer rolls as well, but those were way overpriced. $11 for what looks like 2 rolls from the picture is highway robbery. You could get that for almost half the price at any other thai or vietnamese restaurant in the area.
Overall, the food was good, it looked nice in the restaurant if I had actually stayed to eat there, and the staff was very helpful. I will be back for my pineapple curry fix if...
Read moreWe've been wanting to try a new tie restaurant for quite some time. We saw this one along our drive through Lakeland and thought we'd give it a try. Very disappointed in the heat levels that we ordered, I ordered the coconut milk soup medium, it came out very bland and had to have pepper flakes added to give it some flavor. Flavor. I also ordered the Penang hot, which came out medium. Were ordered with chicken, very little chicken was used in either dish. Dish. Way too expensive for a $30 meal to have very little protein.
In addition to the food, all of the silverware is self-serve. A hodgepodge of plastic wear and silverware were your options for eating utensils. When I came in to order the server Touchawee, was watching videos on her iPad before during and after I ordered. I was the only patron in the restaurant. Her music playing on her iPad overpowered the overhead music that was above. Just an overall bad experience.
If you're getting food to go and don't mind paying a lot of money for mediocre Thai, this is an...
Read moreExcellent food every time. One must understand or at least tolerate a different culture to fully take on the luxurious ethnic food here. If you are a traveler, you automatically understand things are different from home. Either embrace it or just don’t go back. I’ve sat in this restaurant and heard people complain about the food when I had the very same dish and it was magnificent. I wanted to tell those ratty people to go back to McDonald’s drive thru instead of complaining, berating and threatening the ladies who work very hard to serve an authentic Thai dish. The riff raff ate more than half of their meals before complaining about it and demanding a full refund. You know those kind of people. They threatened to write a bad Google review on every one of their restaurants, even though they had only ever visited this one.
This is a good place for a quick-ish fun and...
