Waffle House — Restaurant in Lakeland

I have eaten at this restaurant many times every time had a great experience until last time when the waitress old lady sat us down only to one side of the restaurant close the other side of the restaurant and set two more tables before coming back to my table and asking me what my drinks were for the second time serve the other two tables first before I got my drinks got my food in three stages I was dining with a friend then had to ask for a bowl of grits that had already ordered food was okay service was horrible. After all that was said and done I got my bill where I was double charged for my meals charged $7 per person for an order of sausage and gravy with biscuit when brought to her attention she said no that the online menu is wrong and that the menu at the table was also wrong so we asked to speak to the manager she had to call said manager on her own cell phone then handed the phone to me owner at the end of call agreed that we were double charged for sausage and biscuit gravy took $14 off my bill as my girlfriend is paying the bill the waitress tells us that no we were wrong to come back the next day and speak with the owner I said we just did on the phone and he said you were wrong that you double charged us and she said no it clearly says on the menu that you will charge correctly and I said no where'd you go to school Polk county and I walked out the door I will never be back the food was subpar in the service...

Many people Thanksgiving were inside of restaurants. As well as a few other restaurants they stayed opened for increase of sales and with hope of long time satisfied customers. My Thanksgiving November 28, 2024 review at this Waffle House location. The burger I ordered last night would have tasted better if it was seasoned right. The cashier was kind and with a professional behavior. The cook was complaining loudly about something last night and he carried himself in a homophobic manner. I always raised an eyebrow with the ones who are this way. Jesus Christ Loves Everyone not the sin that they choose to live in but yes JESUS Christ Loves Us All. HE rains on the just and the unjust. Hallelujah Amen. Now on November 29th the atmosphere was much better, it was more workers today and a different cook that I immediately noticed he could cook. He just isn't wearing a name of a Cook/Chef. Every customer was quietly enjoying this Chef food. He was kind and posed himself with professional behavior towards customers and his co workers. The cashier today was very kind and caring about the service she provided me. Don't forget to tip kind professional behaving workers that cares about the service they provide to you. My experience was good for the most part. My waiter was very polite. I had fast service. What I thought was unprofessional and downright rude was a waitress being asked for some syrup by another patron and the waitress while talking to another co-worker slowly walked on over to grab it for her and stopped back at the group of employees to talk some more before dropping the syrup off to the table. She immediately went back to what they were talking about so loudly that I guess they thought the whole restaurant wanted to hear their conversation. Which by the way we did not nor do we ever want to hear the employees talking about themselves while trying to enjoy a meal. I'm only leaving a three-star because my waiter was perfect. Not in the group of talking bees. Oh, and I asked a waitress for a drink because I didn't care for the water and she told me "well that drink is going to be 3.00 dollars ." I said ok I didn't ask how much it was I asked for a drink. I guess she assumed because I ordered hashbrowns and water I didn't have money. I had to tell her I wasn't on a budget just don't eat much . But thank you for the price now can I have my drink? Worst experience I've ever had and just rude and unprofessional to the utmost.
