So, just to get a few details out the way. I regularly stay here for work/business. I have a party of 3,me, my husband, and my toddler. It's affordable, the pool is nice but a limit of 10 people, and minutes away from my job site. Housekeeping was nice enough to change the bedding every 2days. However, there are quite a few cons. For the 1st week staying here I stayed in the king room, but it was on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator so lugging all my work equipment and 5+ suitcases and extra essentials upstairs back and forth is an absolute pain. I work flex/hybrid in the office and from home, so it is necessary for me to have a desk for all my equipment, monitors, etc. When I stayed in the king room there was a desk that I could utilize for work and a small round table that my family could use for eating. However, when I stayed the 2nd week in the double room that consisted of 2 full beds there was no work desk available. So, I resulted to the next best option was to go to the lobby where there are chairs and tables available so I could work in PEACE. Well, after working quietly for just a few minutes the front desk rep came to me and let me know that the “Owner” said it’s “ok” for me to sit there BUT I would need to wear a mask while sitting at this table by myself. BUT! Let's keep in mind that there were people after me just simply sitting there chatting it up and no one told them anything. I was a bit confused because the coffee area was just behind me and the front desk rep said I’m more than welcome to it but HOW can I even drink this coffee IF I have to wear a mask while sitting by myself at this table. And despite being fully vaccinated I just did not feel like it was necessary nor trying to prove to anyone else that I am. I did end up coming back with a mask but my superior needed the mask removed for a daily WebEx video meeting and I was also having a hard time breathing. Anyways, I’m still on the clock so I go to the picnic table that is outside the fenced in pool that is next to the grill. I didn't even last 2 minutes here because it was full of red ants crawling all over my computer and on my hands while trying to type. So I went inside the pool area and sat at the table, this didn’t last long because the kids out there were obviously being kids and were splashing water everywhere and I can’t afford to get my company computer drenched in water. And, I had to go out and buy my own towels BECAUSE the cleaning lady said it’s only 2 towels per room even if you have a party of 3. I was very frustrated about this. I come to a hotel and expect the basics but even this is lacking. Also, on 2 separate occasions while laying down with my husband there was someone that just opened the door and then just closed it and all I heard was sorry. So, every time I come home from work or just sitting in the room, I always put the latch on the door. I just felt weird, I literally could’ve been undressed and someone just casually walked into my room. You win some and you lose...

Monday afternoon, I checked into and immediately asked to have my room changed. I was on the bottom floor at the end of the building where I noticed suspicious activity.
I asked to be moved near the office potentially upstairs as the balcony was covered.
Around 1 a.m. I heard a man crying for help. The sound was getting closer and closer. I called the front desk and asked for help. I did NOT check out my window as I wasn't sure if it was a set up for me to open the balcony door.
The yelling stopped and I waited for 3-5 minutes or so before calling the front desk again to ask what the problem was. I could hear a man yelling and as I ask the front desk what was going on, he proceeded to tell me that he "thinks" the person is in the lobby and that the police department has been notified.
I continued to peek out of the curtains to make sure the sheriffs were actually called but I never saw them. I called the front desk again, trying to have some sort of reassurance of my safety in which he told me that the police had picked up the suspect.
I continued to ask what he was doing so close to my balcony and he continued to tell me that it was a dispute between hotel guests!
I wasn't convinced. I called the local sheriff station and was told that they did in fact respond to the call and that the situation was rectified.
In TEARS I tried to explain to the female sheriff and/or operator what happened and she told me that if I hear anything else, to call them!
I literally sat in my bed wide awake all night scared. NOT knowing what the hell was going on!
Morning came and I made arrangements for my colleague to meet me so I could leave safely.
It's now 8 a.m.and I have no answers! Once I told my mother the situation, she was able to gain MORE information mid day.
After multiple calls to the hotel, my mother was finally told that the "suspect" yelling outside my room had thrown a ROPE onto my balcony trying to climb up!!!!!!
Which I myself nor the sheriffs were told. Apparently, the police department had no idea there was anyone in the room at the time of the incident.
I've been absolutely sick to my stomach knowing that my safety was in jeopardy and the hotel IN FACT was trying to cover up the attempted break in!
I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone stay here let alone someone traveling alone, especially females.
I'm grateful enough to have been warned NOT to respond to anyone's cry for help but to call for help! Had I opened that door, this message may have not...
Read moreWhen one thinks of the Travel lodge amazing things come to mind. From the warm greetings by their staff, to the tentative room cleaning provided. The rooms remained cool with their awesome ac's, and the layout of the room was spaceous and provided an escape from the outside noise. (I didn't hear any traffic, like other people keep claiming)
Rooms have a coffee maker and are provided coffee daily for you to get your pick me up without having to leave the room. However, if you decide to get your coffee elsewhere you may get it in the morning with their free continental breakfast, or you can use the path through the lobby left door, to go to IHOP (this path provides shade from the blazing sun)
The room I had stayed in, contained two beds, two sinks, one bathroom w/tub and shower, a reasonably sized tv, desk, drawers for clothes, and yes, a stand alone closet. Heading towards the ending of the room, you will see a curtain that has a sliding glass door, and two chairs in case you want to sit outside. For those who need to workout, they have a small workout room on the second floor that matches exactly how the pictures were, and they have a pool outside for you!
My personal experience with the cleaning staff was excellent. Roberta, had supplied my family and I with an amazing experience. The kind-heartedness given to us in our days here had made this experience better than that of a 4 star hotel. I wish more people would be as kind and tentative as her, as a smile and a simple greeting's can lighten up your day! Because of her amazing service and kindness I look forward to many more visits to the travel...
