Xing Xing Kitchen — Restaurant in Lakeland

First time trying this place while visiting the area. Let me start off with the absolute rude lady at the front counter, just a nasty attitude overall towards myself and as I sat and watched her interact with other customers. Secondly, I placed a simple small order since I’ve never eaten here before, (2) shrimp rolls and two prepared drinks. My total was a little less than $13 and after leaving the restaurant, not only did I not receive shrimp rolls, but the one (whatever it was because it wasn’t shrimp) made me sick I tossed the other one in the trash!

I was so disappointed I decided to look the restaurant up, (something I wish I would have done prior to ordering from this place), and was not at all surprised by the many reviews of rude service, poor quality and over charging, which the over charging part did not apply to my order. I will never patronize this business ever again, as I travel through the area often, I am committed to not patronizing any business that has poor served and quality. I went here because I had a tast for Chinese food. Unfortunately it was another disappointing outing. Now I will preface this review to say, I am not Chinese, obviously, and I do not know how traditional Kung pao chicken is made. But I will say that, I've lived in a lot of places in the US and visited a number of countries, and I love kung pao chicken and have eaten the dish for 25 years, and NEVER have I seen it breaded and deep fried. So when I opened the box, and looked at this dish, my heart sank. Also, I asked for EXTRA spicy and it had no spice at ALL, I had to put hot sauce and red pepper flakes on it to spice it up. I ordered two lunch specials. Shrimp with garlic sauce. The day after Hurricane Ian drenched Lakeland. Got it in less than 30 minutes. The woman at the counter was focused and efficient. Awesome, considering there was no stop traffic in and out. The sauce was slightly sweet and a little spicy because I ordered it extra spicy. It was very satisfying. The egg roll was cold, which was disappointing. I noticed a pile of them sitting on the prep counter. But, for the day I visited, it was understandable. The customer ahead of me ordered $114 worth.
