Update The restaurant owner reached out to us promptly on these issues and has taken the necessary action to be sure it doesn’t reoccur. We stressed that we love the restaurant and this was apparently an off day. We do plan on going back and enjoying more burgers for sure! I have read other reviews and this definitely seems like it was just a bad day. These can and will happen. No one is perfect. We just wanted to be sure the proper people were aware. Thank you Jason for your great communication and we look forward to possibly running into you sometime at your restaurant!

We were just here on Jan 15 (All you can eat wings night) at 8pm. We ordered and asked for the all you can eat wings. We were told we did not have enough time to order that by the bartender (our server) so we order the half off app one just after ordering our food to try them out. I order a burger and fries along with Tex mex rolls and she ordered a Cuban with elote. The burger, Cuban and elote were great! UNFORTUNATELY the fries taste like fish and smelled like fish! The Tex mex rolls did not come out so we asked for them and ordered the wings when a different server brought our food out (She was great). The bartender only came once to fill water before the food came out and after we complained. The wings came out (sweet Thai chili and pineapple something) and we tried the pineapple ones and they tasted TERRIBLE! Like chemicals. So I tried the chili ones. They tasted like chemicals as well (NOT THE SAUCE, but wing and sauce). We asked if they just cleaned the fryers and the good server said they just cleaned one. She stated that happens once in a while with the kitchen trying to clean up too early. WHY when it’s 8pm on WING NIGHT???? Also we asked for shakes and we were told by the bartender the machine is down at the time. We also suspected this was because it was already cleaned as well. My pregnant girlfriend and I were eating cross contaminated food along with chemicals left behind in the fryers!! This is unacceptable for a restaurant and the employees trying to close up early when there was clearly time for dinner service. They did take the apps off but I want people and the management to be aware. I will say we have only been here 4 times since moving here. The other 3 time were pretty good for the most part. The burgers… have always been good! If we had not been here before… based on this visit we would never...
Read moreI really want to like B-52. There are just some things you should know before you go:
It's LOUD. We've eaten in every corner of the restaurant at various visits and this never changes. You'll probably have to shout to hear your table mates. It doesn't even have to be full to be loud, but when it's full, it's hard to have a conversation. At our most recent visit, we just sat in silence because there wasn't much of a point. It's a sad state when you pretty much just want to leave. This is partly because...
The service varies but has never been great. More than once we've wondered aloud with our party if they'd forgotten we were here... even before menus were distributed. The service and the kitchen are not quick, especially considering the kind of food (bar food) being served. Also at our most recent visit we were distressed by a bartender yelling profanities at a patron. Was the patron being exceptionally rude? Possibly, but if that was the case, where was the manager?
BEWARE: You will not be notified of upcharges, and they are MANY. At one visit, our waitress was cheerfully making suggestions ("Would you like our seasoned sour cream?", "Would you like fries?", etc...) without telling us each item was an additional few bucks. We were shocked at our bill when we had $20 in add-ons. The waitress gave us a "whoops!" kind of look when we inquired. First of all, $2 for sour cream?! We couldn't believe they'd upcharge us for these simple items to begin with, but they absolutely should be notifying the customer that their suggestive selling is designed to squeeze several more bucks out of already questionably priced food.
Speaking of the prices, once you get your bill you'll see this is not a good "value" place. It's like the Spirit Airlines of food marketing. For what you get, you'll get better values at several other local establishments. The food is fine. Nothing here is going to "wow" you. (If you carefully peruse the reviews here, you'll see even many of the 5-stars usually have a "but...")
We've given B-52 more tries than it deserves. There are two restaurants with better values, better food, better service, and better atmosphere about a...
Read moreMy buddy and I were searching for a sports bar that would have the Green Bay vs San Fran football game on big screen TV's. Despite the nasty snowy and cold weather, we found our football haven at the B-52's.
Parking was on-street, as well as across the street in a municipal free lot, located in downtown Lakeville. Sports bar was loud with lots of football fans (cheering both sides), and a large selection of domestic tap and craft beers. Food was delicious, but slow in coming. I tried the PB and J burger, which was well-cooked, and delicious. But again, it was slow in coming. I was three beers in by the time it finally came.
The environment of B-52's is classic "sports bar" with a central bar rail, lots of large screen TV's, and enormous glass garage doors to the outside world. I would imagine it would be spectacular during a beautiful spring night, but not tonight - the view was out to a cold, winter wonderland. Still, the interior was well laid out and offered table and booth seating. Great sports bar decor.
I would have given the visit a 5-star if not for the shortage of wait and kitchen staff. It was pretty obvious on Saturday night during a big football game. Waitresses were super friendly and well educated on beer selection, but there just wasn't enough of them! Food ordered was slow in arriving, and the fries were cold. Of course, it's a sports bar, so.... I didn't complain. The beer was also cold LOL. But still, staff availability was an issue on this night.
I didn't see a mask in sight, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Including us! Watching GB lose was difficult, but again, the beer was cold.
I will go back to B-52's on a warm spring or summer night to see those glass garage doors opened. ...
