I didn't think I liked pho until I found this wonderful restaurant tucked inside the King Soopers parking lot. My friend suggested we go because she frequents Pho Hau on her lunch breaks. I was reluctant to go, but decided to give pho another try since a previous experience had left me thinking that I must just not like pho. Well I fell in love with their ribeye and brisket pho. The fresh veggies to add were vibrant in flavor and the choices of spice on the table added an amazing element of heat to the pho. The frozen boba tea was my first and not the last. I'll be back for more of their teas since I must try more than just blueberry, yum! Their chicken with rice was plated beautifully and the flavor was even better. The light, crisp taste from the veggies gave an acidity that lifted the dish so it wasn't too heavy. My friend got the the pork with rice and gave me a bite; melts in your mouth so I'll be getting that next time. Thanks for a great lunch Pho Hau, I'm proud to know pho can be amazing when executed properly!

Tried Vietnamese food for the first time. I ordered a rice noodle bowl with shrimp and chicken, as well as a steamed rice plate with grilled pork, which came with a spring roll and a side sauce. Unfortunately, I found both dishes a bit underwhelming. My dishes were quite dry. The provided sauce was overly sweet and watered down, failing to add the moisture. The grilled pork had a nice stir-fried flavor, but without a curry or a proper dipping side, it was too dry to enjoy fully. Additionally, the steamed rice plate lacked any accompanying vegetables—just meat and rice, which felt incomplete for the price. On the other hand, the noodle bowl had a generous portion of vegetables, which was appreciated. While the ambiance wasn't particularly special, the restaurant did maintain a clean and organized space. This restaurant is located in the same shopping center as King Soopers, so parking was convenient. The place had plenty of seating, and I appreciated the cleanliness of the washroom.

Ordered the combo vermicelli bowl with beef and summer rolls. Service was extremely quick. Food came out under 15 minutes which is what you want from a casual quick-bite type of place. Service was friendly. Vermicelli bowl had bean sprouts, carrots, beef which was really tasty and marinated well, shrimp which were seared well, an egg roll, and the noodles. It came with a fish sauce which mixed in well with the bowl. The peanut sauce that came with the summer rolls was good - it wasn't too thin which is my preference. Would definitely be coming back for a quick dinner.

I had to come back update this review. I've changed it to 2 stars because the broth is by far still the best around, but I've taken off 3 stars (this used to be a 5 star review) because it is VERY inconsistent and the protein portions are less than half of what they used to be. Frequently the hoisin/sriracha cup is missing (one out of two was missing from our meal last night), I asked for extra vegetables with it as they have reduced what they give and all they gave in addition was a little extra basil and a few extra sprigs of cilantro, no extra bean sprouts. My wife had the large with rare steak and brisket. The rare steak portion was the same as it has always been, but for the brisket, they gave 5, maybe 6 thin slices. I ordered the brisket pho and received nearly the same amount of brisket - and these were the large size! I always split up my order of pho and I used to have 1/3 to 1/4 of the container of broth left over after taking what I want, but this time there was essentially no broth left! Other times in the past year or so the protein portion sizes have fluctuated hugely, and more times than not part of the vegetables is missing or condiments missing. You cannot serve pho without a good amount of sprouts, basil and cilantro, and you will not keep customers if what is given is inconsistent in portion size. I'd come back just for the broth, but at this point, thats about it. I hate to take away a 5 star rating, but more often than not we are disappointed after ordering from pho hau! :( For comparison, the original review is posted below:

Been to pho places all around the lakewood/arvada area and this one by far has the best broth of any of them! Meat portions for the brisket & flank are usually very generous, although they can be inconsistent at times with remembering hoisin and limes, sometimes there is no lime or other times there is no sriracha in the hoisin, or there is very little. The broth is SO flavorful and always hot, the meat falls apart, it is by far our favorite Pho place this side of Denver. It has become an almost weekly...

Good pho, service and decor could be better. 3.5 stars.

I usually find brisket in pho to be tough and flavorless, but I was immensely impressed with the brisket here - seems like it's made in-house, falls apart and melts like butter! I also loved the consistency of the noodles, they were perfectly al dente - I like a bit of chewiness but not much. The broth was better than many but not as good as some, average I'd say. The large pho was huge and generous on meat.

The service was unimpressive for being the only people in the restaurant plus one guy that came in halfway through our meal. Service was brief and to the point, which I don't necessarily mind, but wait staff should know to check in once at some point during the meal (I always need more napkins when having pho, and our water was never refilled). I got rather annoyed when I had to catch my waiter's eye from across the restaurant for a to-go box after sitting for several minutes without eating, after paying the check. When he brought it, he set it down and then immediately cleared my utensils, before I had transferred my food. So I made a bit of a mess, and I felt rushed for no reason. He seemed inconvenienced, like he desperately wanted to be back to playing on his phone in the corner, even though total time with us was probably three minutes.

The decor felt kind of grubby, but more in an old way than an unclean way. Like a greasy spoon. Definitely could...

This place is right down the street from me, not the one I usually go to based on reviews, but last night I decided to try it. Their food is at least a dollar more per plate than my usual spot, so I figured it might be a little bigger or have additional items. Boy was I wrong. After ordering takeout we went to pick up our food and the lady at the front asked if it was okay that they had put fried onions all over my food when I had specifically requested no fried onions due to an allergy. I told her no because it was an allergy and not just being picky, so she apologized and we waited another 10 minutes for our food. When we got home and opened our food we noticed that it was all soggy and cold, and judging by the pieces of leftover fried onion in mine, we waited not so that they could recook my food fresh, but so they could pick out as much of the onions and then serve us the same 10-minute colder food. Besides the blatent dishonesty and lack of integrity, the portions were also much smaller than at most other pho restaurants and the veggies were rotting and absolutely lacking for a veggie and tofu pho soup. My husband's chicken was old and rubbery like it had sat out for a while before being reheated and served. And, like I already mentioned, this restaurant charged us more than our normal awesome place. I will never return here again, no matter how...
