We made a very last minute decision to stop in on a random Friday night. It was early but there were plenty of people already inside. We were stunned at how big it is as it doesn’t look nearly that big from outside. We were seated quickly and our server was fantastic.
I moved to Houston almost two decades ago and we just moved back. Crawfish is the tippy top of the list of food I miss so I was stoked! I ordered two pounds and some snow crab - extra super fire spicy. It was like a kid waiting for Christmas.
The food arrived with lots of flair of opening the bag and the steam pouring out. The crawfish size were really large - especially for being so early in the season. My husband had something else but I legit didn’t pay attention because I was so stoked.
But alas, the crawfish weren’t what I was hoping for. It’s a tough comparison when your standard is Cajun country down south but it did seem that they maybe were steamed or boiled in plain water and sauced after. They were very overcooked and tasted pretty fishy. I think the bag continues the cooking and may have added to it. The sauce I got was garlic butter and asked for fire spice - but it was definitely not spicy. Even sucking the heads didn’t give much flavor (any good crawfish eater knows the good stuff comes from sucking the head!) The crab was over cooked as well but all in all my hopes were probably too high. My husband loved his food and I ate all of mine because it was okay - it just wasn’t what I was hoping for like I could get in those hole in the walls in Houston (my favorite crawfish come from a landscaping company with a crawfish food truck…).
Crawfish seemed expensive but knowing they need to be flown here and the weather down south messed up the season, it was reasonable to me.
The food was good and the service was excellent. But not the Cajun we are used...
Read moreAwful experience!! Came for my birthday dinner with my family. Waiter forgot to put 3 orders in, including my mother's entree. We were told her food was coming, we were done eating and her meal never got put in. When it came, it arrived incorrect. They also forgot 2 other dishes we ordered and we had to put them in twice. Menu recently changed to all you can eat. My daughter and son (who I paid for) didn't finish a small amount of rice and noodles. We were charged full price for their dishes after I was already charged their all you can eat fee. My son got 1 bowl of rice for $17, didn't finish it and I got charged an extra $8 for taking RICE home. I asked the waiter to take it off, especially because they messed our order up so badly. He told me "if you don't want to pay for to-go, then sit here and EAT IT." I can't even believe the poor level of service, rude attitude and overall awful experience. I've been here about 6 times before, always great. Tonight was the worst experience I've had in my life. I still left a tip, and honestly Im pissed I left anything after having the waiter tell me to "EAT IT" in a derogatory, rude manor. Won't be back, pissed I wasted my money...
Read moreMy wife loves seafood so we tried this place. She had snow crab, shrimp and sausage. I had the Cajun chicken alfredo and a side of sausage.
My wife said it was OK but felt a bit underwhelmed considering the 4.8 rating it had when we ate there.
The chicken on the linguini was crispy and very good but there was way to much alfredo sauce. The alfredo sauce was kind of bland and gave me the impression it was just a generic type. I felt the same way about the sausage, just OK.
The service was good, we were seated quickly, our waitress refilled drinks promptly and checked in with us often enough. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the restaurant was moderately busy at that time. The restaurant was clean and I didn't notice anything left on the floors or left dirty. It seemed like the staff was on top of everything when we were there.
Another minor observation is when you walk into to speak to the host/hostess about getting seated, there is not a lot of room between the stand and doors. Several waiters were carrying food through this narrow spot and left us feeling like we were in the way since we kept having to make room for...
