Toni's Pizza — Restaurant in Lakewood

Hmm how do I start? After waiting patiently for almost an hour past my scheduled delivery time I decided to drive up (less than a block away) and see what may have happened to my pizza. During my first visit I was told that my pizza should have been delivered already followed by a slight accusation that I was lying about not receiving my pizza. After reassuring him that my order had not arrived he then called the driver to inquire on what may have happened... I wasn't entirely enjoying my experience at this point so I asked if I could have my money returned to me. He retorted " No, I'm sorry but the driver is at your door and there is nothing more I can do." Hungry, confused, and slightly irritated, I made my way back home (60 seconds away) only to find no food nor driver waiting for me like what was previously aforementioned. Roughly ten minutes later a driver finally appeared and handed me my long awaited food. Imagine my excitement(we have all been there) to finally dig in only to find out that my order( placed almost two hours ago) was wrong. I was given cheese bread instead of the pizza that I ordered. Cheese bread in hand I scurried back to Toni's to hopefully get my money back this time around. I was given 26$ cash ( my bill was 30$ via card ) and a complementary cheese cake. Let's summarize my Toni's experience... I was accused of receiving an order I never got, lied to so that I couldn't get my refund when I initially asked for it, given the wrong food and finally not refunded my full order price. I could have waited another hour for them to remake my pizza but at this point I had been made the fool and just wanted to count my losses and go home. Frankly the pizza speaks for itself, but I finally felt compelled to actually write a review because of their wings, which are nothing short of fantastic. Most pizza places and bars seem to have some kind of wing option but as I’ve noticed over the years, they always come up short due to at least one of a few reasons : pricing, size, sauce, and preparation - with some of the worst offenders being those that have the audacity to put the word “wings” in their restaurant name.

While many places try to lure you in with the promise of 50 cent wings, they usually end up tiny and unimpressive. Not the case here, the wings (and drumettes) are massive - I’m usually surprised by how few of them I get through before I’m starting to feel satisfied (though inevitably eating more because they’re that good).

As for the sauces, they are generously dressed with sauce that, at least to my palate, always has a great blend of flavors that don’t feel overwhelming in any way - by contrast, I’d normally be hitting the blue cheese or ranch a few wings in at other restaurants.

Most importantly in my view is the preparation. Almost every place I’ve ever ordered wings from has inevitably turned out tiny, overcooked, dry, desiccated wings that taste like they’ve been hanging out under a heat lamp for hours prior to service with no tenderness or flavor to speak of. The wings at Toni’s always seem to have the perfect ratio of moist tenderness on the inside with the pleasing crispy exterior, while not requiring you to wrestle with the bones to release the meat. I think I just ate the BEST wings ive ever had (and ive had wings at The Anchor Bar in Buffalo NY, where the "wing was created")

These wings are EASILY the best in Lakewood, and im VERY fussy about my wings! I originally ordered well done dry cajun.....and the very nice man on the phone recommended the Nashville Hot (also a dry rub) so I figured why not, I'll try! Thank you so much for the recommendation!! They were absolutely amazing! I'm so excited to have my brother & parents try them, as they love wings & are always saying how hard it is to find good ones! Unexpectedly they came with a HUGE cup of blue cheese & tons of celery, without having to ask, and without having to pay an extra $1.50 for each.

If thats not enough.....their prices are VERY reasonable, they deliver until like 4am & in addition to the sweetheart I spoke to on the phone, I had the nicest delivery guy too!!!!
