I don't think this has ever been a fantastic place to eat, but the in-laws occasionally want to go, so we go. However after tonight, I think we're finished for good. The first red flag was that there was 3 tables around us with un-cleared food. It was there when we got there, and after our ordeal and over an hour, they still hadn't been touched. There were plenty of small things, like no drink refills and dirty silverware and asking for a Sr. menu and it taking 15 minutes to find one and then not being able to order from it because it was a few minutes after 6pm. But the biggest issue was that my husband ordered a skillet and asked for red chili instead of green chili because of an allergy. They brought him a skillet with green. He got the servers attention and let him know, he took the skillet back to have it remade. It came back and was the same skillet, but with red chili just on top of the previous skillet. He didn't realize this until he had eaten a bite and ended up having to have allergy med. He was okay since it was such a small amount luckily. But we still got the managers attention and explained to him, he seemed completely inexperienced as a manager. He left for about 15 minutes, came back and said we were wrong and the cook said he didn't put green on it, but he'd remake the meal. We even went made sure the manager knew we weren't blaming the server for the issue. But after that it was like the server just literally quit working and cared less about serving us, if that was possible. He never came back except right after his manager to tell us we could have free pie if we wanted since the meal went badly. However, he never came back at all. Finally we just got up to pay and leave. Just frustrating treatment after trying to be understanding and laid back in the situation and there was no care from the management or server at all. That was just the worst. Sadly everyone else at the table got cold food and it was just a bad bad experience. Definitely will not being going back to...
Read moreAfter sleeping in and getting a late start, we got to breakfast around 2 p.m. . The Host was very personable and nice, the waiter was prompt and proficient, the food came out literally in minutes and tasted great. The reason I am giving it a two stars is this. As soon as our food was served the cleaning started. Our conversation was disrupted by the waiter filling the jellies and the sugars . After that, out came the vacuum. Initially started a few tables away, gradually moving closer to us. Right in the middle of a conversation that was going on, and the fact that we were eating, the vacuum was right next to our table and Kickin Up debris. Why do you need to vacuum and stock the only two tables that were sat in the restaurant at that time?! We asked the waiter to stop the vacuuming, which he did and apologized. Couldn't figure it out on his own before we asked. The bossy, annoying, bitchy waitress asked the waiter why he was using the handheld broom instead of the vacuum. When we had to explain to her, cause she couldn't figure it out on her own, that the vacuum was being used while our food was on the table, she got mouthy and combative. We got up and left, leaving half of our food on the table. And having a conversation with the manager, he covered our bill for us with a half-assed apology. Still completely unsure as to why the cleaning needed to be done around the only two tables that were sat at that time?! Do these people that work there have the desire to go out and pay for food, get away from the house, spend some time with somebody only for it to be disrupted by housework and chores? Could have been working on the entire other part of the restaurant and come back to our section 15 minutes later when we were...
Read moreI only rated this Village Inn 1 star because you can't rate it 0 stars. But I wouldn't give it any if I didn't have to. This was the worst experience I had ever had at a restaurant. My mom and my kids and I went in, and we sat down at our table and waited for quite a bit for someone to come over to us. We were finally greeted, and our waitress seemed flustered and apologized for the wait. Fair enough. We were super cool and understanding about it and said no problem, take your time. Well... she did just that. We finally got some drinks. And then... waited. And waited. And waited some more. At first, it was no problem as we always take a while to figure out what we are going to eat anyway. But as more time passed, we noticed that the people around us who came after us were getting their food. And at this point... we had not even ordered. My mom asked her about it, and she pretty much dismissed it and said she was getting to us. But she gave attitude, and I absolutely can not stand when I go out of my way and you throw attitude at me. We asked for our bill... she said there was no charge and so we got up and we left. I will never go back here again, which sucks since it's the only one in the area now. Oh, well. Do not come here, people. I dont know if it was my kids she didn't like/had a problem with or something else?... but regardless, you should not be rude to those who come into a restaurant you chose to work at and tip really really well each and every time. Period. Point blank. No excuse. Especially when they were more than nice and understanding to you. Yall... I was livid. Flabbergasted. Take your...
