Tonight I went to a brewery located right next to the Garlic Knot. This brewery offers free delivery for the garlic knot as well. My sister in law (who by the way, flew into Denver after working a 12 hour shift for a major airline) joined myself and her brother for a beer. My sister in law was famished and called the Garlic Knot for delivery. The employee who answered the phone advised her they were closed (hours on yelp had Garlic Knot closing at 11:00 pm, she called at 10:20). The bartender (who is amazing) informed us the owner of the Garlic Knot is actually at this brewery and he had tons of extra pizza and would ask him if he could spare a slice. The bartender later comes back and advised my sister in law he said, "No". Not only did he say no, but wouldn't serve us cold food. (So throw it out?)Did I mention my sister in law worked a 12 hour shift with no food in her body? We carried on with our night and decided we would write a review on yelp about this. 20 minutes later, the owner, "Chris" approaches us about the yelp review. He was belligerent and highly intoxicated. He was aggressive about the fact we posted on yelp. We asked him to leave, and he wouldn't. He then proceeded to bring up politics, informing us, "Hillary isn't in office." Why was politics brought into this? His friends and the bartenders had to pull this man away as he was so aggressive and loud. This man is a business owner and conducted himself in the poorest manor. He obviously doesn't care about customer service or approaching people/potential customers unprofessionally. This happened in a great brewery that hasn't been opened long and was embarrassing for their establishment.
Needless to say, their food is SUBPAR. You only order from the Garlic Knot when all else fails because this area unfortunately doesn't have many food delivery options. Do yourselves all a favor and go to king soopers and grab a frozen pizza. At least you get cookies with most. Don't waste your hard earned money on a business that conducts themselves this way and will probably try to fight you over a yelp review. If you REALLY need to order pizza; Pizza Hut, papa johns and dominoes also delivers. They are substantially cheaper and at least their pizza tastes better. The owner is a drunk and a bully. DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. MCs Pizza is 3 miles south and is owned by a small family from NYC. Give them your money. They...
Read moreWell for starter's, I should have just hung up the phone when the girl Deandra (whom took my order) was sarcastic. I wanted to order it for delivery. When I gave her my location, she said they were just behind Red Robin. That I could just come and pick it up. First off, I'm in a Semi Truck and Trailer delivering a load to a construction site. If I was able to pick it up to begin with, I would have done so in the first place! I told her I was in a Semi and couldn't, she then places me on hold for about 10 minutes. So I proceed with my order. She said it would be 45 mins to an hour. Ok. So I wait that time frame give or take ten mins beyond the time allotted. The delivery guys has to call me, he has no clue where he is delivering to because she failed to tell him the semi at the site. So he gets here, I tip him $5.90 on a $28.10 order. So $34 for a salad, garlic knots with mozeralla, and two make it your own zones. Not bad, all that cool. Well that was till we got the food!!! They gave me four little courtons with courton crumbs for the salad and the pepperoni on my salad had cross contamination with onions, which I loathe onions. So moved onto the garlic knots, they were cheesy, however most of the cheese was burnt brown except the middle. They had no garlic taste what so ever. The sauce was very bland. So after appetizer fail, we then move onto the main food. Epic fail!!!! The crust has no flavor, mine in particular I ordered sausage, pepperoni, bacon, and black olives. Well OLIVE over kill!!!! So much olive taste, I couldn't taste anything else. I can handle olives in moderation, but that was to the extreme! I was so disapointed!!!!!!! I live in Ohio. So it's not like I matter anyways, because I'm not repeat business, but I can say this. The owner needs to find out what his employee's are doing. Too light or not enough flavor, and sarcasim customer service will not wins you any customer's. However, the delivery guy Asen was cool. Had a good attitude, even though the dragon answering the phone didn't give him proper delivery instructions, he was still polite to me. Kudos to the delivery guy, and I wish him the best of luck working with co worker's whom can't keep up to par... Next time I'll just skip breakfast and lunch, and wait till I get a chance at dinner. Such a waste of my money, and...
Read moreI have truly never had a worse meal or dining experience in my life, and I don’t say that lightly. My partner and I are big foodies, and even when pizza isn’t great, we usually still enjoy it — but this? This was completely inedible. Neither of us could even finish a slice. The pizza had no sauce, rubbery cheese, and a strange, cardboard-like crust.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, when I picked up my order and drove all the way home, I realized they had forgotten my garlic knots. Yes, I should have checked before leaving, but still — for a place literally called “Garlic Knot,” forgetting the knots is ridiculous. I called and asked if they could deliver them since I live just a few minutes away, and they said they didn’t have a driver. Frustrated but determined, I drove back.
The manager did give me extra knots, which is the only reason this is getting one star instead of zero. But honestly, it didn’t matter. The garlic knots were a huge letdown: weird, rubbery texture, no flavor, just greasy bread that tasted like nothing. My partner also ordered wings, and those were just as bad — he couldn’t even finish them.
Most of what we ordered went straight into the trash. And we are not picky eaters. I don’t understand how this place has any loyal customers or positive reviews. The vibe and menu might look good, but don’t be fooled. Even Domino’s offers better pizza, wings, and garlic bread — and at a better price.
It’s been weeks since we ate here, and my partner and I still bring up how shockingly bad it was. That’s how unforgettable the disappointment was. Since then, I’ve mentioned my experience to people in the area, and every single person has said the same thing: “Yeah, that place is trash.” I wish I had known before wasting my time and money.
If you’re considering trying Garlic Knot — don’t. Save yourself the frustration and go literally...
