This place used to be good about a year ago, and it is awful now so I have gone 2 times in the last couple of months and they were both a joke, the time a couple of months ago we order some sushi and they gave us bad yellow tail, I and I told who I was with that it looked very brown and very hard, and I told him not to put it in his mouth, and immediately spit it out and the rolls they make are very sloppily put together and the rolls are very loose and the middles fell out of them I told the staff how poor it was and that we received bad fish this was on a Friday night,
we went today because I thought it would be better this time as it was a Monday afternoon it was not it was pretty much worse !!!! We went in at like 2:30 and we were the only people there at this time. We order our food and our waiter was non existent! He barley came to check on us and when he did he came and left so fast I could not even ask for a soda, when the food came it came out in an old wooden boat was splintering so i am not sure that it is safe to eat food of, I moved some of the fish more to the middle as to make my self feel better about eating our rolls that again were very sloppily put together and they were spilling out, I go to eat a piece of nigiri and I bit into a fish bone, at this point I was done and I felt that the food was un safe to eat, I literally started crying on the restaurant I was so upset we told the waiter he did nothing and I said I just want to leave and we did, I don’t know if they got a new staff, but the service and the food is horrible and I will never be going back I should have fought to get my money back, but I was to upset and wanted to leave, there are better places to go like Leezakaya in Aurora and shiso sushi & oyster bar in Edgewater, I do not suggest...
Read moreWe have ordered Wasabi to go 2 times recently. Last time in December and today. The last time we ordered in December, our order was completely wrong. We ordered combo meals, but they didn't include everything that was supposed to come with it. We thought we would try it again today, and again our order was wrong. We ordered Teriyaki Chicken, lunch sushi and gyoza. The "teriyaki chicken" that we got was shredded chicken in what looked like a chile sauce. They didn't include veggies and the rice was disgusting. I called to speak with a manager and they refused to put he/she on the phone. I instead spoke with a server who told me there was nothing they could do about the incorrect order. He blamed the missing vegetables on a new cook, and said that the shredded chicken was teriyaki chicken. I proceeded to tell the server that I would appreciate a free meal, or more so my credit card being refunded. He put me on hold and didn't cover the mouth piece, so I was able to hear the manager say "they can't complain about their food- they are cry babies- it's ridiculous- they can come to get their vegetables if they want them so bad, they can drive their asses here to pick them up". When the server came back on the line, he said there was nothing he could do. I told him that they had awful customer service and I could hear the manager in the background and a good manager wouldn't subject a server to talk to a disgruntled customer, they would. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!!! I wish I could...
Read moreCame in to lunch for a quick bite at 1:11pm with 3 others. It took 30-45 minutes to get my food in an almost empty restaurant. I told the server I had to pick up my son from school and ordered one extra roll for to-go for one of my kids around 1:30 pm. The dynamite was incredibly salty and was charred, the sashimi wasn’t fresh and the sushi was absolutely awful. I ran into the server in the restroom and asked if the kitchen staff had changed or the recipes had changed because the food was awful compared to the last few times I had been there over a year ago. I understood that things happen. It was close to 2pm and I told her that the last roll was the only thing we were waiting on was the roll I ordered a half hour prior and I needed to pick up my kid at 2pm. My bill was $144 and I still tipped the 20ish percent even though the service was absolutely atrocious. It took a half hour to get my roll as I was anxiously waiting for this to go food in an almost empty restaurant. I would have let everything go and not complained but everyone had explosive diarrhea hours later. I have always eaten at Pho Belmarasia. I would have at least enjoyed my lunch and eaten more than a few bites without this stomach pain and the poke pita over there is close enough to sushi. And it would’ve been much cheaper. Hell, the poke restaurant in belmar shopping area would’ve...
