My first visit to this cafe was an extremely disappointing experience, especially because I had been looking forward to it. as a Japanese-style cafe, I had high expectations for meticulous attention to detail and omotenashi. the reality was a disappointing and sharp contrast to these standards.
when I arrived in the morning, the atmosphere was immidiately upsetting. The staff lacked even basic friendliness; everyone seemed to have a frown on their faces, and the over all vibe was very off-putting. There were no welcoming greetings and no recommendations offered when I placed my order.
Things went bad to worse after I received my drink and food. As I was eating, water suddenly splashed down from their ceiling, hitting and completely ruining both of my drink and food. The water was colored black, making it a clear health hazard that necessitated immediate action. Despite the gravity of the incident and the cafe getting busier, I had to wait several minutes before anyone addressed the situation, NO ONE TENDED TO MY TABLE, APOLOGIZED OR CAME OVER TO FIX THE SITUATION. demonstrating a profound failure in customer care.
to make matters worse, a staff named Ally was rude and displayed a terrible attitude towards me. Her attempt to remedy the situation was frankly insulting: she unsanitary placed an empty bucket right on our table. Not only was this unhelpful, it was unsanitary response to health hazard and ruined order. THE TOTAL LACK OF SERVICE AND EMPATHY was unacceptable.
I truly regret spending my money here. The hype from social media was def not worth it. The order was expensive, and the matcha was not great at all tasting as if it were made from instant mix. they don't wash the mixing bowl after every use. I expected a high quality, whisked ceremonial grade matcha not cheap preparation.
Overall a bad experience , rude staff, lack of cleanliness and safety and empathy. a complete disregard for...

ONTO Coffee in Lakewood is hands-down one of the best coffee shops in the Denver metro area! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels warm, modern, and welcomingâperfect for working remotely, catching up with friends, or just enjoying a quiet moment with a cup of coffee.
The quality here is unbeatable. Their lattes, cappuccinos, and specialty drinks are crafted with care and precision, using beans that are clearly top-notch and roasted to perfection. The espresso is smooth and rich without being bitter, and their matcha and chai are equally amazing for those who want something different. Many locals rave about their seasonal drinks, and I completely agreeâcreative flavors, balanced perfectly, and beautifully presented.
The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to recommend something new to try. Service is fast even when theyâre busy, and you can tell they put pride into every detail, from latte art to customer experience.
Another standout is the foodâfresh pastries and baked goods that pair perfectly with your drink. Itâs also worth noting that the shop is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it a go-to coffee spot for both Lakewood locals and visitors from Denver.
If youâre searching for âbest coffee in Lakewood,â âspecialty coffee near Denver,â or âLakewood coffee shop with great atmosphere,â ONTO Coffee should be at the very top of your list. Highly recommend stopping byâyouâll quickly see why itâs becoming one of the most talked-about coffee shops...
Read moreThank you, Aria, Primrose, and Spencer for welcoming us in! Y'all were so busy right up until close but didn't skimp for an instance on quality.
I've been around Belmar for a decade and a half now and have seen lots of cafes in this location. The last major place, D-Cha (a boba shop), definitely wasn't gonna make it. But I really do hope Onto does! Belmar needs a coffee shop. Onto has flavors that aren't really seen elsewhere in the area but are seriously enjoyable. My partner is already hoping to have their Vienna Coffee once a week or so. He is absolutely enamored with the balance of espresso and chocolate that's so much better than a simple mocha (and I am too but can't indulge due to the caffeine). I personally appreciate that their Hojicha has a toastiness parallel to some coffees but the caffeine of being green tea. The Banana Hojicha Latte was so smooth and flavorful but wasn't cloyingly sweet. Great for those with small sweet tooths! I thought I'd get tired of the flavor the longer I sipped, but I truly enjoyed to the last drop. For someone with a sweet tooth though, get anything with their Ube sweet cream. Damn, it's delicious and sweet! I took my order home to share and...
