Another one of those days getting off of work after standing on my feet all day.. in need of immediate fuel for the body. On my drive home from Waxahachie going to Dallas, someone suggests I stop at this burger joint by the name of IN-N-Out. Well! I tell you, what a gem on i-35e as I discovered as I drive from Waxahachie on my way to my hotel room in Dallas. First impression is a well-lit building with this neon sign that reads literally IN-N-OUT. I pull into the parking lot and park. I walk toward this well lit building and enter through the double glass doors framed by Chrome with chrome handles. I am immediately met with, welcome to IN-N-OUT! I am concerned, every table is full with happy families chowing down. There is a line at the counter. There's also multiple cars in the drive-thru. Well I'm here now I thought, I'll give it a try. With the place at capacity seemingly, I prepare myself to take advantage of the opportunity to practice my patience. Did not have to! It is minutes for the five groups of families ahead of me to place their orders. Now it's my time to order. The young lady was so nice and clearly explains my options. I order the double meat protein burger, (I hope I am labeling this sandwich correctly, but it's the double meat cheeseburger without the bun and wrapped in lettuce.) I also order a single Patty cheeseburger with fries, so I can fairly assess my first visit here. VOTES ARE "iN--N-OUT" A SMASH HIT! From the time it takes to order my food, and wait for the order to come up... To the presentation and finally the opportunity to fill my ravaging stomach, I cannot be more satisfied. The burger could not have been seasoned any better. Incidentally, you can watch them take the fresh ground beef and cook it to perfection, along with their other menu items through their open kitchen. The lettuce is so fresh and crispy which adds texture to the double meat cheeseburger minus the bun. The fries are also season to perfection, and crispy with each bite... all the way down to the last fry. A sampling of the single Patty cheeseburger on a bun, allows me to enjoy the pleasures of a butter grilled, soft and succulent bun. I am planning to go back to try their shakes. I highly recommend IN-N-OUT for a quick service that will serve up a meal for two for under 11 bucks in record breaking time. Please LIKE if this helps you and / or folloyw so I can...
Read moreIt's a pretty limited menu. If you don't eat beef I think the grilled cheese or the fries are about all you can get aside from beverages.
That said, I still love this place. It's made fresh when you order so sometimes the wait can be a little long, especially when it's busy. The longest I've waited has been 12 minutes but that was because I had the misfortune of coming in right after a little league team.
If you're not an In N Out "veteran" I'd suggest looking for their "not so secret" secret menu on their website. Otherwise you'll only see the basics of burgers and cheeseburgers on the in-store menu. The only problem with ordering something not on the menu is that you don't know the price before they ring it up.
I always get the double double (2 patties with 2 slices of cheese) made animal style (cooked in mustard with grilled onions, special sauce, pickles and the usual lettuce and tomatoes) with the burger done protein style (instead of a bun they'll wrap it up in iceberg lettuce slices. Great if you can't eat wheat.).
There is no neat way of eating here. So unless you're totally comfortable with having your date see you with a face full of sauce, I'd go someplace else for a date. But everyone there will look the same way so it's not the end of the world.
Workers are always cheerful and helpful. Like to a Twilight Zone level of niceness with energy I haven't had since my early twenties. That's not a minus, it's just a little surprising to encounter when they'll actual bring your order to your table for you. They are also very patient and helpful when you're new to the...
Read moreI had never been in an In-N-Out Burger before today. So here is my first impression. It is extremely clean. It seems like this is very hard to do in fast food. It looks like somebody got down on their hands and knees and cleaned the floor in the lobby. Here's the other thing, presentation appears to be everything. That burger was assembled to look pretty, not just slapped together with no care other than making sure you have everything on it. The meal was put on the serving tray with great care obviously. It looked perfect! This is another fact of fast food. It never looks like it does in the commercials. Ingredients; from the looks of the tomato, lettuce and onion, they are not using the unsightly parts of the veggies. That was my point from the beginning, presentation appears to be everything here. I think I get their point, a clean, organized and pleasingly aesthetic restaurant AND food shows care. And I haven't mentioned the staff. They were all full throttle on professional and diverse. I know it's 2021, but I feel like I just stepped back into the 50s. You can...
