I had the WORST experience with Stanton Optical. I lost my glasses last weekend and needed a replacement pair in a pinch. I chose Stanton Optical due to their same day guarantee. I brought my own frames and a prescription from 4 months ago. I just needed lenses.
The first day that I went (Wednesday), I walked in and had to wait a few minutes before anybody came to the front to greet me. Kimberly told me to wait at one of the tables. Another customer walked in after me, and Kimberly proceeded to assist that customer and had me waiting for 10-15 minutes. Poor customer service from the beginning. Kimberly was nice after that in helping me get my order placed. She told me sheâd have the glasses completed by the next morning. I did not receive a call by the next afternoon and had my boyfriend pick up my glasses Thursday afternoon. Lesley helped him and initially told him they wouldnât be ready until the 26th (almost 2 weeks later). I was on speaker phone already upset because nobody communicated that information to me. Lesley then magically found my glasses, so my boyfriend took them with him. When I got home later that evening, I realized that the prescription was incorrect. I took them back only to find out that the lenses were on the wrong sides. Lesley and John were very helpful and let me know that Kimberly had made the lenses. This meant waiting another day for my glasses. On top of this, Lesley and John told me that they didnât have the glass lenses which I paid $80 extra for. Instead Iâd be given plastic âdummy lensesâ and would have to bring my glasses back by the 26th for the glass lenses. Again, no communication about this until I pressed the issue of the prescription being incorrect.
I returned Friday morning for my glasses only to determine that I still couldnât see out of them. John told me that Iâd have to have a new exam for an updated prescription. He was helpful in getting me seen right then and there for a virtual exam. Following this, I thought everything was okay, but I was sadly mistaken.
Saturday morning, I returned to check on my glasses. Lesley told me that she had to order the lenses for the new prescription and they wouldnât be in until the 26th. I pressed the issue (because yet again, NOBODY communicated this with me). I asked if she could check if another location had them in stock. She said sheâd call Cedar Hill but would first double check to see if my lenses were there. Mysteriously, the glass lenses were in stock. Lesley assured me that she would have them filled that day and would give me a call, which she did.
Sunday afternoon, I went to Stanton Optical for my glasses, thinking that all of this would come to a close. I tried the glasses on, and the prescription lenses were significantly off. I couldnât see, yet again. Lesley told me Iâd have to have an exam with a practitioner in person at no additional cost. I initially agreed to this but decided to just ask for a refund.
On top of all of this, the lenses werenât even fitted properly to the frames. Part of the glass was hanging out of the frame. When I brought this to Lesleyâs attention and told her how that speaks to the lack of care that Stanton Optical employees have, she told me âwell you werenât going to wear them anywayâ. She also told me she was going to fix them before I left. Her response was disrespectful, dismissive, and irrelevant to whether or not the prescription was correct. When employees tell me that my glasses are ready for pick up, that means that everything is ready to go, and I should not have to wait for the final touches on my lenses. Also, if I had not have brought that to her attention, she wouldnât even know that there needed to be an adjustment.
Please take my review and AVOID THIS PLACE!! When I read othersâ reviews, I felt validated to know that Iâm not the only one who has had this issue. It also makes me sad that there is a business operating as such, especially when it comes to eye care. After this experience, I have learned that faster service is not always better when it...
Read moreCan here not to long ago with my two kids only because i just moved to the area and my other eye clinic was an hour away, everyone seemed nice but my only issues were , As soon as i walked in i kept asking what does my insurance cover so Iâll know before hand everyone just kept saying well discuss that once weâre done with the eye exam the guy was super nice about it but still i wanted to be informed of whatâs covered , next we did our virtual eye exam it was very hard to hear him over the intercom and second the prescription for me and my kids was completely wrong i have worn glasses my whole life and at that appointment i was told i had a really bad astigmatism in both eyes but only needed prescription glasses for one eye which i knew was completely wrong since i had been wearing glasses since i was in the 4th grade, again my kids eye exam i was told they needed glasses just not really strong ones and there eyes werenât that bad again i knew something wasnât right, now back to the insurance as it turns out the lady with the blonde curly hair told me my kids was free up to $100 and that they would show us a selection of which is under that price and mine would be $35 copay but then she walked away and i guess to the manager or something i can tell she was saying something about us since they both laughed after that the manager came to us and said my insurance was out of network but if we wanted to purchase the prescription we could and she said mine would be $75 and my kids $25 i told her no and that was the reason why i wanted to know what was covered before being seen i wasted an hour of our day when we could of went somewhere else she did apologize to me for the inconvenience and we left i did in fact go somewhere else the next day i drove the hour to our old eye clinic and i remembered the prescription for me and my kids and once our exam was done i told him what the eye lab had said we needed he laughed and said they were way off on all of our prescription and was not accurate not even the slightest. They are very polite people that are working there so Iâm giving them one stars for that but leaving four off since our prescription was completely wrong , i wish i could say i recommend this place but sadly i can not since the prescriptions are wrong, Iâm just glad i knew what our prescriptions were i can only imagine how that...
Read moreIf i could leave Zero stars i will. This establishment was very unprofessional. My appointment was at 6 pm and i arrived at 5:45 and when i walked to the back for my appointment. The girl at the back stated that she has to leave at 6 and she kept saying it over and over. She asked me was the paperwork finished which i did everything online. She then proceeded to ask me was i using insurance i gave her the insurance name again because again i filled this out on the paperwork previously before my visit. Once i finished my eye exam they told me to go to the front so i can pick out my glasses. The Brand Manager then yelled across the room in front of others and asked me did i have insurance. I stated once again that i told the lady in the back. She told me that i have to send my insurance information to their email. Which i am like " Okay thats fine i have no problem" Once i sent it over i continued to look for glasses. The other Assisant Sales manager yelled across the room and asked did i send the information. I told her that i sent it to the email. She stated that she needs my breakdown information sent to the email not the card. So exactly what are they doing. If i am suppose to provide the breakdown then i could've just verified my own insurance. I do insurance breakdowns and if i ask my patients to bring their own breakdowns in that is so unprofessional. Once i finally sat down to talk to Kimberly about my insurance not one time did she ask me about what type of contacts i needed or wanted. Normally the people in the front will ask if you want color or clear i wasn't asked neither. Then i was told that my exam was $300.00 and insurance will cover it. When have an eye exam been $300.00 and she then stated that i had a retinol exam which i didn't have. I never recieved my prescription for my eye exam. And i was their for about an hour and half. I will not be back at this establishment. AND I WILL BE CALLING MY INSURANCE FOR FILING FRAUDULENT THINGS ON MY INSURANCE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME BECAUSE ITS EXPENSIVE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL HERE AND THEY CLAIM FALSE THINGS ON YOUR INSURANCE !! I donât wish to report their names but this establishment needs...
