I came in 05/03/24 late afternoon to pick up my glasses . Beforehand, My experience there the first time was fine . Dr G was nice and understanding. But my second time , seemed and felt like a cruel joke . I ordered Versace frames . Therefore , when Iām buying something expensive or luxurious like Versace, I expect it to look like it , and brand NEW. Poor glasses, were in an optical plastic baggie .( The box was separate). Before the lady pulled it out the bag, I could SEE through the bag , my glasses were extremely DIRTY . They looked used ! Grease, thumbprints and just old crusty grease on them! She pulled them out without touching the glass and still proceeded to ask me to try them on .. I was low key disgusted . She also told me there is a wipe I can use to clean them . I thought it was joke, and assumed it was one of them models (not even the models were dirty when I first got there) . And she sold it to me dirty . It was obvious. I even had to ask her where are the wipes and she told me itās in the box . I wasnāt even offered an alcohol wipe . Everything at that point was ridiculous and felt really unfair . [ Iām a mom of 3 children , so you have to understand Iām already tired and I donāt feel like being a āKarenā and start complaining . I just wanted to go home š] Once I got to my car I took a closer look and man , they were far worse than I thought in day broad light. Even the optical box . The box looked very used and had scratches inside. I was wiping my glasses with the cloth, and it had hard dry crusty stuff on them , I was scared to scratch them !!! I didnāt have a choice so I had to call the boutique to help me fix this situation . The same lady came to my car , I explained everything nicely and respectfully, she took, then cleaned the glasses and replaced the box while I waited in my car . It only seemed like she mightāve wiped it with alcohol bc I didnāt see much of a difference only that hard crusty stuff was wiped off but literally the outline/edges of the glasses are still dirty, and not even my cloth can get that mess out . I need MANAGEMENT or OWNER to get in contact with me because I know thatāll be my last time there period . And itās sad that I even recommended 5 of my family members to go. Until then, Iāll...

Side note: I got to see Dr. Glosterās smiling face. Im glad we found path forward & I donāt have to search for a new provider.
Update: Dr. Gloster called me & provided more clarity into the situation. Two days later, my glasses were ready. Iām currently testing them out. In full transparency Dr. Gloster is an excellent provider. I have a medical condition going on with my eyes & she has been an excellent part of my care team. My frustration was not with her, it was with members of the staff & the lab. Thank you Dr. Gloster for calling me & for ensuring the process was completed.
Iām actually sadden I have to write this review because Ive been going here for years. I ordered my glasses 6 weeks ago. My glasses are usually ready in a week. For 6 weeks Iāve received excuses on top of excuses. I had to call my insurance to find out the truth. I was told on 4/15 by the office manager my glasses would be ready within the week. I knew not to trust him after he hung up in my face & never called back. I had to call him back just to receive yet another excuse about how he didnāt know how to merge calls. Not to mention he told me he recorded the conversation with the glasses lab on his personal phone. Iām sure he had to give some type of PII so to record it on his personal phone is a HIPPA violation. Iāve been waiting on the dr to call me since 4/15 so I could report this to her but she didnāt call. On 4/22 I was she would call me on 4/23 because she wasnāt there & does not work on Mondays. As of today 4/24 I still have not spoken to the doctor who is also the owner nor do not have my glasses. At this point, they can refund me the out of pocket cost I paid for the portion the insurance didnāt cover & they can keep the glasses. I was scheduled to have an eye test done, but upon arrival I was advised that āsomeone tried to call me.ā I check my phone and found out that no one called, but they called the correct number to verify my insurance. Interesting, I know. I was taken to the back and advised that I had to pay $195.00 that would apply towards my deductible. I asked who verified the insurance because my plan runs from Aug 1 to the end of July. He said the doctor did so I advised that I would wait to speak with the doctor.
I advised the doctor that my deductible and out of pocket had been met for my benefit year. Dr. Gloster advised that the patient would have to pay the estimated amount in full upfront. I shared that I would not pay an amount knowing that I did not owe it and if that is their practice policy I would go somewhere else. While walking to the front I asked if I could get a copy of all of my prescriptions so that I could go somewhere else. That is when Dr. Gloster became very unprofessional talking about my personal situation in front of another customer in the front, saying that she was āmatching energyā and going on about them not doing anything wrong.
I will definitely be reporting them to the department of insurance to have their billing practices reviewed and investigated. Itās not us younger people that I am worried about, itās the elders that fall victim to...
