We ordered family Grande meal with 1 and 1/2 lbs of steak fajita meat w/ green peppers and onions; 2 pints of rice, refried beans and carro beans, all with sides of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, Pico hot sauce, plus 2 dozen tortillas. Wow, talk about some great food. Awesome food, hot, spiced just right, and the meat was really tender. We took it all home and stuffed ourselves. So good! 👍
However, before going to Lancaster location, we First we went to Waxahatchie Taco Cabana. We placed the order, then the guy, who had a snarky, flippant attitude, said, "By the way, we don't have any steak fajita meat, so you will have to take chicken, and that will be $80 dollars." My husband just looked at him, and shook his head. He told him, if I wanted chicken, I would have ordered it . So keep your $80 dollar chicken, there are other Taco Cabanas. We left and went straight to the Taco Cabana in Lancaster.
I called in the order So they would know we were coming. My husband went inside and the the little Spanish lady, who is the manager was super nice and professional. She was cooking steak fajitas, taking orders, answering the phone , checking out customers, putting together orders, and literally talking thru everyone's orders and communicating everything she was doing, letting people know exactly when their order would be finished. No excuses, just fast, proficient service.
She was fast", excellent, proficient and personable. Parking lot was full, drive thru was constantly full; They were super busy, but She had customer orders out in a jiffy. Even though we had a really big order, and there were people dining inside, or taking orders out, nothing broke her stride. Boy, she was good at multi-tasking! Worked hard, cheerful, kept all the customers happy and Informed. Super manager! Taco Cabana can be proud of this location. The service and the food is beyond excellent; All hot and fresh, and it's because of the manager!
Highly recommend the Lancaster, Texas location. She said they always have plenty of steak fajitas cooking up, because people love them. Best food ever! We will...
Read moreUsed to go here a lot because it was good. Taco Cabana has always had quality food. However, went with my mom and niece because we had a craving for Mexican food on a Sunday morning. And it was a complete disappointment. First of all, we went up to order and the cashier was texting on his phone. He did not acknowledge us at all. Then one of the cooks walked by and said, 'hey you have customers,' to which he replied, 'yeah I'm waiting for them to order.' But, again, he never looked at us. He kept his head down looking at his phone. Then finally, he looked up like we were inconveniencing him and we placed our order. Please remember this is fast food Mexican. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. The people who ordered after us got their food first. The place was practically empty so it shouldn't have taken that long. Finally, when the brought out the order, it was the saddest thing I've seen. The food was horrible and you could tell they didn't put any effort at all. I had a quesadilla and the tortilla was falling apart because it was over cooked. I really hope this restaurant improves because, like I said, I really enjoy Taco Cabana. And the ones down south, especially San Antonio, are really good. They even make fresh tortillas. But the food and the customer service in Lancaster is so bad. They need to start by getting rid of people like that young man who has no customer service skills. We weren't asking for a red carpet roll out. But it's borderline dehumanizing to be treated that way. I work in an office and even I'm not allowed to text on my phone during work hours. In fact, I think this is the first time I have ever seen someone do that. And the second thing I would suggest is hire better cooks. Taco Cabana has always had fresh delicious Mexican food. Your standards are dropping. Not good for business. Probably not go to this location again unless we hear that the service and food has improved. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants in the area that, yes might be a little more expensive, but at least your getting better...
Read moreThis light skin lady with blonde/pink braids I'm guessing she is the manager. She was working the drive thru taking orders, taking payments, giving the food to customers way outside the window with gloves on both hands. Remember the gloves ok. When I pulled up I watched her with these same gloves handle large burrito size tortillas. She placed them on the grill. She continued to get other orders ready. With those same gloves she made the burritos. She stuck her right hand in whatever toppings to put on the burrito. She then answered her cell phone with that same gloved hand and placed the phone up to her ear to talk. She used her shoulder to steady the phone while she continued. Once the call ended she used that same gloved hand to put her cell phone back in her pocket. She finished the burritos folded it em all nice in that foil wrapping it comes in....order was ready. I'm still waiting for someone to come get my payment. I was hoping it was her so I could tell her to change those gloves. Unfortunately she didn't. With that same gloved hand she handed her headset to a Hispanic guy who was taking over the drive thru window...with them same dang on gloves on. NASTY AND THEY KNOW BETTER. I get they may have been short staffed because I was in that line well over 30mins but that does not give them reason to not be cautious with handling folks food. Change your gloves or let one person handle the drive thru etc not both unless you change those gloves. I got 2 enchiladas plates and an order of flauntas that she didn't fix thank you God. The food was good but the wait was too long. Those young folks in there were moving close to...
