Ton's Palace Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Lancaster

I tried to place a order over the phone I ask for two meals the first meal was chicken and shrimp fried rice with no eggs no vegetables the lady that took my order advised we can’t make the fried rice without egg I then stated well what about ppl who are allergic to eggs so all your fried rice comes with eggs she then tells me that they can make the fried rice without eggs (I’m pretty sure they pre made fried rice with eggs and that’s what they were trying to serve) I then asked for pepper steak no eggs she now has an attitude but continues to take the order while saying no egg in fried rice pepper steak I said ok cool I then asked for 2 egg rolls do you know this lady got the nerve to tell me egg rolls are eggs I’m like ma’am it’s called a egg roll because of the shell it’s not scrambled eggs in a egg roll can I just place my order she then says well you said no egg ma’am idk what side of the bed you woke up on but I advised you to take some classes for comprehension because obviously you just had a bad day and felt like being a nag instead of providing good customer service or you must can’t comprehend what a customer is explaining to you worst service ever you restaurant is in the heart of a black community we pay yall bills the least you can do is provide great customer service oh yeah and I forgot to mention it was a new cashier and she also advised she thought I was a getting a special (cheap order) and she advised with the special is the pre made rice that has egg and vegetables and you can’t substitute it mind you I never ordered a special!! I don’t normally write reviews, but I really wanted to give my feedback to Ton’s Palace. I have been coming here since I was a kid and was excited to stop by today because I was back in my old neighborhood of Lancaster and wanted to go to my favorite Chinese place. Well I was highly disappointed everything has changed no more handmade crispy egg rolls or my favorite dishes I loved. Apparently new owners and being cheap not buying good ingredients trying to “save” a buck! The same cook is still there but now the food is terrible because of the quality of it the ingredients. Where is the Tons Palace I once knew and grew up loving?? The old Tons Palace would never serve frozen egg rolls just sayin! When I drove up the parking lot was empty now I see why! New owners stop being cheap and go back to the old way of doing things since u still have your original cook! This is why your business is slow because people want the quality of food back that was the whole reason they all loved Tons. ! Sorry for my rant but this restaurant brings back childhood memories and I was so disappointed! I hope Tons reads my post and changes their ways and whatever meat you call chicken has the worst mushy texture ever not even sure it was real chicken!...

I ordered through Uber eats. We got general tso chicken, and shaken tofu both with white rice, 2 egg rolls, and 2 orders of dumplings (but 1 get 1 free special) including delivery and tip I spent $38. The general tso was really good. Sweet but not very spicy. Good amount of chicken and veggies, chicken was a little soggy tasting like it had sat for a day in the sauce, but still good. The tofu was a little bland. Well seasoned, but I would've enjoyed a more crispy tofu in a sauce.

Egg rolls were slightly soggy, but got flavor. Same for the dumplings. They had a slight crisp, but again it was a if they had been sitting for awhile.

Food was hot upon delivery.

Realistically for the price it's a 5 star place. But my honest review is 4.

Both my entrees were the small option, and it was plenty enough to feed my husband and I.
