I've eaten at a lot of great locally sourced/vegan/vegetarian establishments……..this not being one of them. I was extremely disappointed, partly in the quality of my food, but mostly in the quality of the service. I called in a pick up order for their beet salad. To get started, the guy who answered the phone had no idea what was on the menu and didn't know they had a beet salad. He said it would be 20 minutes, which wasn't a problem. I got there 20 minutes later and really liked the place upon walking in. Great location among many local businesses, quaint, welcoming, and filled with organic items you could pick up for your own grocery needs (although maybe a little overpriced). It wasn't super packed. I stood at the counter while the employees talked amongst themselves and wasn't greeted for a good 5-10 minutes. I paid for my salad (around 10 dollars) and he said my salad would be right out. I sat and waited for another 10-15 minutes when it finally came out. It was a sad looking salad, with a small bed of greens topped with apples, raisins, beets, etc. The salad was OK…didn't taste fresh and some of the greens were wilted. If there was a redeeming quality it was the house dressing, which was pretty good. Hardly a salad worth 10 dollars and a 45 MINUTE WAIT. Overpriced, average quality, and poor service. I love supporting local business so it's really a shame. Maybe they...
Read moreI’ve been to Arnold’s Way a more than a few times this past 6 months or so because I enjoyed the banana whips and green smoothies. However I always get a unwelcomed feeling when there as Arnold himself seeminly looks down on me for not becoming vegan, even after I purchased and read his book. He challenges me constantly with combative questioning and unprovoked information. It is just a choice I made for myself that I really shouldn’t have to defend against. Today’s trip for the occasional banana whip however left me with diarrhea. I had the feeling today after our interaction that he may have done something purposefully to my order. It could be just that the place is dirty, an observation many have made. Whether intentional or unintentional, I am experiencing violent diarrhea As a result of my visit there today. It is not anything else I eat as I don’t eat out anywhere else. My diet is 60% fruit 20% vegetable and 20% poultry and fish. This combination keeps my body feeling good and looking good. Arnold disagrees and I can’t help shaking the feeling that my order was intentionally tampered with. Thankfully my wife and daughter did not join me this time. I will learn to make banana whips at home and will no longer be returning to Arnold’s Way because in my opinion whether it be via malice or ignorance, this is...
