Harper & Penny's — Restaurant in Lansdale

I read the rave reviews about how good the food was, so I was really excited. BUT, my experience was quite different. My friend and I both ordered a hamburger, medium, hers with Swiss and mine with cheddar. When they came out, hers filled the bun and was thick and juicy, and she really enjoyed it. Mine looked anemic and more like a hockey puck, small, flat and well-done. I simply couldn't eat it, so the chef nicely remade it. The second burger was better from a size standpoint but certainly not as big and juicy as my friend's. It was also medium rare not medium like hers, but at that point I was so hungry that I just ate it - only half of it though because I didn't care for the taste. Apparently, the chef puts mollases in the burgers. I simply dislike a sweet taste with any meat but especially my hamburger! They only have chicken thigh, no breast meet to be found, even in the chicken sandwich. Also, all of their wines are from PA, a state not known for good wine, and all of their liquor too. Hey guys! I’m back with another review! So yesterday on my lunch break, I had a taste for a good cheeseburger and some crispy french fries. I walked in in the atmosphere was just so chill and hard edge. So let’s start out with the menu., everything on the menu was with handheld snacks, appetizer,quick bite and I liked that! Something quick if you wanna go grab and dash. I ordered a cheeseburger and some fries, the cheeseburger was juicy onions was fresh and lettuce,. I think it was some type of jam inside the burger and it pop.!!!! The fries was exactly how I like them. I had a business lunch this past Friday with a couple attorney's and decided on Harper and Penny's due to the location. I had eaten at the Pennsylvania Soup and Seafood House before so I was aware of this restaurant but never ate here. I am certainly glad I decided on this place. I was able to make a reservation using my Google Assistant (so easy to do) for the following day. Arrived a few minutes before the reservation and was seated right away. Our waitress was the Owner and did an excellent job of being attentive without being overbearing. The lemonade drink I had was OUTSTANDING as was the gin and tonic I tried. The food was excellent though they were out of the hummus, next time I'll get it. We did not try any of the desserts, I was too full.
