Hernandez Mexican food — Restaurant in Lapeer

I decided to try Hernandez because I read that it was "Authentic". Unfortunately, I should have taken the advice of other 1 star reviewers. The food is far from Authentic, it is very Americanized. The meat was plain, cold, grey and with no Mexican flavors, there was no cilantro anywhere on the menu, beans/rice/cheese all were cold. The sauce was not spicy either. I was only able to eat a few bites before throwing it all away (80% of the food thrown away). I wasted my $20. This is by far the worst Mexican food place in the Lapeer, Davison, Imlay city area.

Please just advertise the restaurant as American food with a Mexican twist. That way, people who want food like this, know where to find it. People who are looking for actual real Mexican food with flavor, won't be...

I love the story and I hope they have a big restaurant someday. This is not a state fair so they need to think about pricing. The $10 Nachos boat fit inside a takeout box could have fit 4 boats was too small a portion, you can fill that box for $10. A meal combo with a side of rice and beans with 2 enchiladas would be great. I cup of rice was $4 way too much! No tamales on the menu. Rice tasted great but not worth $8 for rice and beans 1 cup each. The giant burrito was worth it! My chips were stale. Fresh chips always for Mexican place. Put the $10 burrito toppings on the $10 Nachos please! Lots of competition with Mexican food in the area. I wish them the best, I...

The food was delivered on time. Was piping hot, was more than enough for all to eat plus leftovers.

The beef, rice and beans were absolutely delicious. The chips and salsas were out of this world.

We live in Sterling Heigjts but purchased catering for a party being hosted at my in laws.

The entire process was seamless and wonderful. It was delicious and affordable.
