I was very disappointed with the restaurant. We figured we'd give it a try. We really aren't much of beef eaters, but it was Mother's Day and we decided to give it a try. We did make a reservation with no problem and upon arriving, we were greeted nicely and seated right away. The place is very nice, lighting was relaxed and had very nice music at a comfortable level. Waiter greeted us and asked for our drink order. I mentioned it was our first time here and he just said, "I'll get you some water while you decide". I would've preferred that he suggest a drink to start. He took literally 15 minutes to bring our water. My wife wanted a sweet, fruity drink and the Waiter suggested an Old Fashion. I told her no, she wouldn't have liked it. I couldn't believe he suggested that drink. We went with wine. Waiter said he would get us some bread and our wine. It took about another 10 minutes for our wine. By this time we were ready to eat. We ordered the mushrooms with prosciutto. We got our appetizer before the bread. Mushrooms were horrible. Dry and the prosciutto looked and tasted like half a cup of toasted bacon. My wife ordered the salmon, which she liked. I ordered a 12 oz ribey that is sliced and came in some sort of meat sauce and lots of herb (I can't remember the name of the plate and the herbs). The menu indicated atacado slices and nop, no atacado. I ordered cooked medium. Meat was over cooked, but the worse part was that the meat was cold. We had a hard time getting out waiter to visit our table. I asked for an extra bread and I had to ask twice for it. When we got it, the bread was extremely hard and not soft like the first one. We wanted a dessert but I was ready to just leave. The Waiter was super friendly. I guess just needs a little more training.
I didn't say anything because I don't like complaining, or making a big deal. And I hate giving bad reviews but sometime you just have to. Especially on a restaurant that you will be paying over $130 for two people.
I hate that I was very disappointed...
Read moreGood location for this steakhouse behind border foundry. Plenty of parking.
Atmosphere is nice, decor of the place was really good. Servers are friendly and well dressed, this is a high end spot.
Table bread was good, came with chimmichurri and butter, it was good. So good in fact that they asked me if I wanted another bread, and I said of course. What they failed to mention is that they charged $5 for the bread, wasn’t expecting that at all. No one advised me of that but alright.
We ordered a shrimp with oil dish, cooked in a cast iron, this was outstanding! Great flavor, came with 6 pieces of shrimp and came out on a hot cast iron pan. Highly recommend.
I ordered a 15 oz picahna and my wife ordered 12 oz American ribeye. The ribeye was thin, but cooked well. However they failed to season the steak.
The picahna was cooked okay, also poorly seasoned. When you think of picahna , you think of the fat cap, tell me why my picahna did not have any fat cap on it? They carved out the fat! I mean cmon man, you’re an Argentinian steakhouse and you do that, that is blasphemy. Then they cut my steak, let it bleed out on the plate. Is this their first time or what? Leave the steak whole, like my wife’s ribeye. The second saddest steak I’ve eaten. The worst one was a ribeye I had at Otillias. Steak came with steak fries and they were okay. My wife’s baked potato wasn’t fully cooked either
Overall this place missed the mark and for paying $115 for two people before tip, you’re better off grilling your own steaks for a lot less. I paid $40 for the picahna and $39 for my wife’s steak. I wanted to give this place 3 stars but that bs bread move left me upset.
I honestly think if you’re looking for a decent steak, save yourself some money and go to Texas or...
Read moreFirst time and last time going San telmo reason being there was no introduction between the waiters just brought us the drink menus not all menus we had to ask for dinner menus was bringing one thing at a time even though there was barely like 5 tables on a Tuesday he was taking forever yet I had to ask for another server on what was best sellers on appetizers or dinner which the other server couldn’t help us on he had barely or zero energy to work on a Tuesday yet I ask for the New York strip it was barely medium the way we ask as it was close to medium well and ask to company with the steak some bone marrow which they forgot to place it with the steak and got it separately which was not the point of it yet the only way I ended up getting the server name it was when I ask for the ticket his name is Miguel for calling it fancy n upscale on food prices it was the worst experience ever I would of rather spend my money at Noble if u all people read this don’t go to San telmo unless u want zero effort in service n overprice steak which they don’t come out the way u ask oh n the only time the waiter seems happy it was they add the gratuity but seeing the service and food it was not worth it so he can enjoy that tip but I would never go back...
