The food was okay, but the waitress took about 8 minutes to greet me, and take my drink order. (Not a good sign of a pleasant experience to come) The restaurant looked great, and had wall to wall television screens as I had expected from a sports bar. The ONLY thing that I didn’t like was that the management allows for people to smoke their e-cigarette/vaporizers in the building. If the city of Laredo has a city ordinance against people smoke cigarettes inside buildings. Then how is it okay to smoke something else that creates clouds of smoke?? When I complained to management she said that there is “nothing against people using e-cigarettes”. So I asked for my bill, and left early. The next Monday I called the Laredo health department environmental health section, and asked them if there was any city ordinance banning e-cigarettes inside buildings. They said yes, and that the management at the tilted kilt should know that. After getting off the phone with the Laredo health department I called the tilted kilt, and asked to speak to the general manager. The general manager promptly answered the phone, and I proceeded to explain what had happened to me that night. He apologized, and offered to buy me a meal on my next visit.(quick to the standard response) I thanked him for the offer, but declined because I didn’t feel like being subjected to the terrible service, and rude management again. Besides I saw more “Muffin Tops” here at the tilted kilt than at any bakery that I’ve gone to. What’s worse is that there are guys who also wear kilts. No hostess walked around n eventually got a table at pool area. went to ask for service and a waitress said shed attend us. Seemed high, she kept forgetting to pass by to check on us, and would come back right after we asked for another round and ask again what our round was. We close out and i select the 15% option, and my friend left ones at the table we didnt use from pool. She then proceeds to CALLING US OUT by asking if she did a bad job becase we didnt tip. I asked her to check her system and assured her i tipped. Then she asked me how much, a d i proceeded to telling her to check, confirming 15%, she asked $15? I said no 15% why would i tip u $15. Shes like its cuz u couldnt at least tip $5 im like i had 2 beers and i tipped 15% despite ur service. Shes like your friend didnt tip. Im like 1 im not my friend and 2 we placed bills in the table. The sheer audacity and embarrasment Despite the bad service was shocking, quick to call out before even checking thre table or her machine. Read moreWhere to start, I arrived and asked if the kitchen was still open and the bartender said yes, and so I asked for a menu and started looking to see what sounded appetizing. I ordered chips and salsa and a a blue moon. Thought to myself great, I can just sit and catch up on all the football games. Had to remind the bartender for my beer, and after a bit, like where are my chips? Asked the bartender, which didn't check on me unless I got her attention. She goes back and gets them after a few mintues, and not even a minute later my burger comes out. Face palm, what was the point in ordering an appetizer? Spoke to the manger I think, he apologized and brought me ketchup for my fries. Burger ok, fries...5 oz. A lot less than I thought. So I have to ask for napkins from another person there. Finish my food and beer, then the bartender finally checks up on me. Close my tab, and ask the chips to be removed and spoke with Val I believe, like the GM, took issue and apologized and very very great communicating and apologizing for the issue and helped with my card transaction as my card has funds was used earlier, but bank card acting strange.
