I really enjoy my breakfast food so finding a go to place for breakfast/brunch has ended with this First Watch.
I have been coming to this locations for a while now, so rest assured that this review is coming after many dining experiences.
This location can be busy during the weekend, so I suggest you “put your name” on the waitlist through the Yelp app. It’s accurate with the wait times and you’ll save time standing instead of standing around and waiting.
The food here is always fresh and made to order. I usually go with some eggs and veggies but I’ve had some lunch items and they’re solid as well. What I highly recommend is their banana granola pancake. I get it every time I go and it’s insanely good.
The coffee here is superb as well. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t care for coffee, but theirs isn’t bitter and has a smooth taste while gently patting you on the behind in an “attaboy/attagirl” fashion to give you an extra bounce in your step. If you enjoy coffee, then you should’ve already ordered this by now.
They also serve a few fresh juices on their menu. The morning meditation is very refreshing and the different flavors complement one another in harmony while not being too sweet or sugary.
Overall, the food here is very good, but the people there are what makes this place truly special. I’ve interacted with the majority of the staff and I can honestly say that I go here hungry, but I always leave smiling. You’ll never see anyone working there without a smile on their face, and the speed at which everyone asks if they can get you anything else makes you feel like you’re having breakfast at your grandma’s place.
You’ll definitely leave here full and smiling.
5 star food, and 10 star...
Read moreI'm so disappointed. My first ever visit to First Watch was this location and I received just the opposite of most reviews.
Service I arrived during a "slow" time at 10:30am on a Thursday with half the tables empty. It still took 6 minutes for someone to greet me to tell me it would be a few more minutes and proceeded to check out 2 people who came to the register long after I was there.
I then waited another 5 minutes to have my order taken. My beverage (water) came after my meal was served.
Only once did the staff check on me and it was a drive by. She said, "is everything delicious?" But before I could respond she was done. I didn't even see her leave my check! She was fast but service and/or any personality was nonexistent.
The cashier didn't even wait for me to sign the check before he left the register.
I looked for a manager the entire time I was there. I wanted them to know about my experience but they were absent. Might be why service was so poor.
Food Quality Food selection was good with a bunch of healthy alternatives.
I had the traditional breakfast and eggs had minimal flavor but were cooked perfectly. Potatoes, on the other hand, had numerous raw chunks in it. They tasted as if they were cooked where fish was grilled. The chicken sausage was OK but nothing I would order again. The toast was fine but only one slice with the meal!
Food Value A basic breakfast without a bevrage was $10. Way overpriced for the amount, flavor, and level of service.
Summary There are so many other options for breakfast with healthy alternatives, a fair price, and great service. I can't understand why this place gets such high marks. I must have simply been an exception. But it was bad enough that I...
Read moreAs a chain goes it’s generally good to great, HOWEVER, on my last two visits to the Largo/Seminole and St Petersburg locations not so much. 1st, wait staff, if I ask for something like creamer for my coffee, bring it before I go get it off another table and pay my bill. Just saying, that’s one reason ya only got a 10% tip. 2nd reason, asking if everything’s okay when you drop off the food before I can sample or examine is insulting and ineffective. 3rd, kitchen staff, what’s it gonna take to learn the difference and how to cook a over medium egg vs an over easy egg? Not hard, pun intended, not up, not with runny egg white. Basic, and sorry if this makes any of you feel less than, but in the real world perform or get out. 4th, when I send the egg back, waitress shouldn’t argue with me that it looks over medium to her. BTW another reason your tip sucked. 5th, to the management, thanks to the hostess/cashier who took $2 off my check, but I didn’t ask for it and it’s insulting. Don’t ask how everything was with my visit if you aren’t going to do anything with the feedback. I honestly tried to express my issues and you obviously don’t care and since it wasn’t heard by a manager, I’m sure it will continue to happen to others again and again. Love the food, the concept and atmosphere of the chain, but expect a quality experience for what you charge. Hope this finds it’s way back to the right people so they can get their...
